Does perfect Cy Young count as an elite pitcher? If so, then I have marked the first item off my shopping list. Thanks to the person that pulled one and listed it for 420K last night. |

Yep, that's the one. I wanted to wait for 400K but I got antsy and it was getting late. I was afraid the seller would stop after 420K and go to bed.

The Frogs are kind of lollygagging around this first month or so, currently 16-17.
Didn't have a particularly tough schedule yesterday, but still couldn't crack .500. Bullpen has been a problem (5.33 ERA) where it usually isn't one. Some sluggish starts for hitters like Boudreau, Pesky, Ashburn, Maddox, and all my little defensive mighty mites it seems. Nomar Garciaparra has been great with the bat .400/.419/.632, but just set a winnable game on fire by making 4 errors at third base. Plenty of winnable games on the schedule today if the RNG will allow it.

At 12-23 and facing certain doom, I am ready to draw a few conclusions from what will inevitably be a brief one week stay in perfect.
- Smoky Burgess (.369) hits EVERYONE - Freddie Lindstrom (.315, 7 HR, 31 RBI) can play in some perfect leagues - Max Scherzer (5-1, 3.38) is one of the few lives you can get away with using in this level (not in the almighty whale league, but in a few perfect ones) - Silver heroes like Merv Rettenmund (.225, 6 HR, 10 RBI) & Hersh Freeman (10.80 ERA in 10 appearances) run out of magic here - Magus sucks at OOTP (but you already knew that) |

Raccoons are … "in trouble". Well in the red zone, no defense, no offense, pitching butchered day in, day out, and then on top of it, all the losing!
Rebels are squiggling for a wild card again, three games out in the division. And the Accountants are tied with about everybody for a wild card in their weird 12-team subleague. The division leaders have healthy leads, while almost everybody else is within three games of another. But the Accountants also splurged. Been beaten for every auction that I shyly raised my hand for yesterday while I was sleeping, I found a 1937 Joe DiMaggio on the auction house that was juuuuuust squeezing into my budget at 20k. I needed an upgrade in CF, would have hoped for more D, but he was MINE, now partnering up with Cleon Jones and PEAK Clemente in the outfield. ...and with the added boon that whenever he goes in a slump, I can meekly sing "Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio? Your GM turns his longing eyes to you …!" Edit: and Player of the Game and a 3-run clocker in an 8-4 win his first time out. That's where I like it!

Paragon City Heroes are frustratingly inconsistent, 5 game win streak, 3 game losing streak, ending the sim on 30-25 in 3rd place in the division and 5th in wildcard, the starting pitching just can't get going and even Rollie Fingers in the pen has been terrible, we win blowouts and lose close games. On the plus side i replaced Berkman with All Star Miguel Cabrera and am training him at 1b, he's hitting really well, 11HR in 121 AB
Bad News Bulldogs are rolling alonh at 35-18 but only 1 1/2 games up, 2nd and 3rd in the division are also 2nd and 3rd in the wildcard. Bert Blyleven (84) has forgotten how to pitch (1-5, 5.92era) but the rest of the starting staff are doing well with gubicza being the pick (6=1 2.36era) Giolito has done well as the closer. Reggie Sanders won batter of the month for the first month of the season but has cooled down a bit, no other hitters have done anything spectacular, but everyone has contributed Grimleigh Fandangoes have started out well at 38-17, again they are in a division with the 2nd and 3rd place wildcard teams. Kevin Appier (8-2 2.36era) has been racking up the PP with corner painters and pitcher of the month but all of the pitching staff have been good apart from Lance Lynn in the pen. Chone Figgins is almost trainer at 2b, Bob Cerv is training at CF. Goldschmidt, Sosa, Beltre are all hitting dingers and Bob Watson and Andrew McCutcheon in platoons have been destroying lefty pitchers, biggest surprise is Charles Johnson, biggest disappointment Boog Powell

Joe DiMaggio is making me a crisp 1 PP per game.
Only 19,984 more games to break even.

The Colonels are playing well but we have a wary eye on Josquin's Carnivores, who are currently devouring the entire league. They have won 29 in a row!

I give up trying to figure out the Frogs this season. We play .500 ball against weaker teams and then take 4/6 from 10-time PL champ Meuthen Silver Sox. Oh yeah, and sweep the Kansas City Aces which happens to be the best team in the other conference.
If only we could put something together against the weaker teams...is this what it feels like to be a whale? lol

Well, the fun ended at 30 games. Let's hope we don't pay for that streak with bad luck in the playoffs.

You have a really good team. There are some nice cards there, but it is not the most expensive that I have seen by any means. It's just really well constructed. |

4000 PP. Frankly, I had hoped it would be worth more, given how rare such streaks are.

Paragon City Heroes finally hit their stride in June with one simple change bringing in Kevin McReynolds at CF, they moved to the top of the division by 7 games with a 49-32 record thanks to winning 18 games in June. Miguel Cabrera 2012 All Star has also made a huge difference coming in at 1st base, hitting .375 16HR 45RBI in just 208 at bats.
Bad News Bulldogs have dropped to half a game behind losing 5 of their last 6 games, all of them by 1 or 2 runs. mainly down to the hitting, no one is performing well enough, time for a shake up in the lineup

Doha (61-19) is in a somewhat weaker league this season and are leading the NC East by 24 games. There are 2 other good teams in the NC: the Vlad News Bears (58-23) are leading the NC Central and the 7 times PL winners Orlando Shockers (59-22) are leading the NC WEst.
On a side note, before the season I upgraded my 98 Jackie Robinson to the pefect version, and he is the one formerly on Orcin's team; so far he has a .320/.384/.520 batting line. Great Lakes (52-28) are leading the AC East by 8 games but are not playing as well as I expect. While the AC has only one other team with a title at perfect level (Bludhaven Robins 66-16 in the AC Central), there are 5 in the NC. Perugia (49-32) is leading the NC Central by 6 games over the La Crosse Fighting Frogs. The cream of the crop are the Methuen Silver Sox (53-29 in the NC East) with their 10 perfect league titles.

Currently sitting at 65-17 beating up on an 'easy' Iron League after my exit in the playoffs last season. The next best teams: San Francisco Nerds at 54-28, Fairfield Oil Kings at 52-27, Columbus Clippers at 52-30, and Narberth Empires at 51-31.
Robin Ventura's been a stalwart at SS for me, already hitting 62 for the position rating while giving me a 148 OPS+ and 3.1 WAR. Roger Maris has fallen hard, slugging just .371 with 11 HR in 272 PA after last year's bonkers 45 HR output. Cody Bellinger has a 161 OPS+ with 18 HR but his SLG has fallen off from an otherwordly .610 to a 'mortal' .555 so it's unlikely he repeats his 47 HR output from last year. My MVP caliber players have been C Mickey Tettleton who's playing out of his mind: 25 HR, 55 RBI, 1.099 OPS, 198 OPS+(!), and 4.5 WAR. 3B Nolan Arenado has a 4.7 WAR with a 166 OPS+ with 21 2B and 19 HR. Finally 2B Jose Altuve has a 4.4 WAR and 144 OPS+ with 14 HR, 13 SB, and 67 Runs. Gerrit Cole, last year's Triple Crown Winner, is my 'weakest' SP with a 118 ERA+ but he's still at 13-4 with a 3.57 ERA. My studs right now are Hyun-jin Ryu sitting at 12-1 with a 2.31 ERA and 181 ERA+ (3.7 WAR) and Sad Sam Jones at 13-2 with a 2.45 ERA and 171 ERA+ (4.5 WAR). My bullpen has been superb as usual. Shane Bieber's been astronomical: 42.2 IP, 4 ER allowed, 0.84 ERA, 498 ERA+ and a 1.9 WAR thus far. Closer Dennis Eckersley is right behind him with 17 Saves, a 1.75 ERA, and 239 ERA+. But the real surprise has been Noah Syndegaard: 34 IP, 1.85 ERA, 1 HR allowed, and a 227 ERA+ after struggling in the rotation last year finishing with a dysmal 92 ERA+ for the year.
