The Frogs are having themselves a nice little season in Diamond .357

17-9 in April, 18-9 in May, and now 20-6 in June. Playing .700 ball and leading the division by a cool 10 games. As you might expect the team is near the top of several statistical categories. The team is cruising so hard that I don't even feel any need to make those nitpicky little 1-3K PP worth of in-season roster moves. Maybe will be able to afford something significant after the season.

The Raccoons. And I despise the despicable punk Harper with all my heart. I HATE HIM. Just look at the punk go in Monday's game against the Mets. But hey, at least the hair remained perfectly styled while he threw a tantrum.

Ah, I see! I know you kept your Walter Johnson, but I assume you'd have no problem selling Harper, right? 26k PP is a nice pickup. Would you use it in the AH or will you only use it for packs?

p.s. - I don't follow modern baseball, by the way, so I don't know anything about Harper. Well, except for his ratings in OOTP PT.

Sometimes ignorance is bliss. The next thing anybody should know about Bryce Harper is nothing at all...

And yeah, the card is on the auction house already. I'm starting at 30k and will see whether I can get anybody to bite. But even for 25k that is still plenty of dough for a very good diamond bat (I need one...) and a stash of lottery tickets.

That 8 losses in a row turned into a 3-15 stretch. Since then we're 13-3 and suddenly back at .500. Guerrero got over his bad start and now leads us with 21 HRs, 1 more than Judge (and 2 more than Stanton and 3 more than Bellinger). Pederson was kinda lousy lately so I replaced him with a rookie Ted Williams. (EDIT: now on a 20-4 run, and Pujols and Sale are now leading the conference in WAR among batters and pitchers respectively)

Meanwhile, the Black Panthers, who got off to a horrendous start, are now a game under .500, while the Golden Lions, who got off to a very good start, are on an 8-18 run and 6 games under .500.

I just checked in and found out I had a 1000 PP achievement. Tony Gwynn (80 OVR) had a 32 game hitting streak. I've been playing OOTP since OOTP 4 and I don't remember ever having a player with a 30+ game hitting streak on one of my teams. I've seen plenty that were longer, but it was always someone on a different team.

I "upgraded" my pitching and 3 weeks later, my pitching staff (ALL of my SPs, not just new guys) are doing worse than before. Oh well, the hitting is still carrying the team with a .313 AVG and we're still 1st in R and many other categories too.

The weirdness continues for B'sin'Glou. We're 64-42, which is good enough for the 2nd-best record in our conference and 3rd-best in the league!

We're also 10 1/2 games back in our division, the Winterfell Dire Wolves cruising along at 75-32.

I keep waiting for this team to fall apart but they keep surprising me. We are 0-2 to begin the month of August so maybe now is the start of the slide...

My iron league ftp Mammoth Mud Hens finished the day with an 8 game winning streak and are 63-43 in 1st place. The other conference has the only stacked team (perfect Gehrig, 94 Ruth, etc.), but we're actually a decent team compared to the rest. Of course, if we make it far enough to play those guys from the other conference, it won't be pretty.

The disgusting Harper card is gone. Not sold; but torn. I saw an auction for this card with a starting bid of 20k PP, no bids in, and only 15 minutes to go.

I had to.

Tom Seaver.

Yeah, I know I said I was going to buy myself some bats, but … but Tom Seaver …!

Someone pulled Tom Terrific and never played with him.

Now he's mine.

I think it's safe to say that my team was not quite ready for their promotion to Perfect. Currently sitting at 29-77. Ouch.

Big Walt might win another triple crown… if the offense could give him a wee bit of support. Just a wee… he doesn't need much. His ERA right now is *1.15*… in Diamond!

Tom Seaver won his first start, so I already feel bliss. Between those two and Craig Swan, three of the rotation spots on the Raccoons are permanently booked!

The Rebels? You noticed how the log of recent achievements on the start page shows only so and so many of your most recent achievements? It usually cuts off about six to ten weeks in the past, depending on how well your team is doing. The Rebels still have their April achievements show up, and just now made it to their first pack of the year (which was full of lint) and somehow keep playing at .500 in Silver.

An interesting battle in my division with four teams still battling it out. Expand it out for the wildcard race and throw in a couple other teams also in the mix. Going to be a bloodbath I think. I've got 20 out of 40 remaining games against the other five teams in the mix. Luckily, the other 20 are all against sub .500 teams so might be in a good position to take this out. Fingers crossed!

0-3 so far against the competition. Fallen to 4.5 games out of the wildcard spot / 6 games out of the division.

B'sin'Glou went 12-15 in August, losing all 6 of their games against division leaders Winterfell. We're 77-56, with a 9-game buffer in the wildcard, though we're 4 games above Pythag. We're top half in most statistical areas, though only 10th in bleacher features. We're a 99.6% chance of making the postseason, according to the pennant chase screen. Our magic number is 21.

Jeff Bagwell only hit 4 homers across July and August (18 on the season), so maybe he'll start crushing it in September. In the other conference, a mere 81OVR Bagwell has hit 30 dingers...

Walter Johnson has a 1.26 ERA and 21-1 record through August. Y'know, having Rey Ordonez play short every day is probably hurting the offense quite a bit, but it's supercharging Big Walt for sure. I also have Pokey Reese split duties at second with Whit Merrifield; Reese gives me a second 110+ DEF middle infielder. The corners are a bit weaker - Pete Alonso (the future legend version) at first base, and Joe Foy at third - but it seems to work.

The 1.26 ERA would be the best ever in PT 20 for a pitcher at Diamond or above.

Never mind that my teams as a whole are playing under .500 It's all about hollering for Walt now!

Everyone's favorite Frogs slumped in August, with a mere 14-15 record in the month. All told, the team is still in good position in D357 with a league-best 87-46 season record. The Long Island Pizza Rats got hot and closed to within 3.5 games at one point, but the margin is now back to 7.5 games here on September 3, 2023. We won't play each other again.

The Frogs might be a decent playoff run away from making Perfect League. It would be pretty cool for a F2P outfit advancing every single week all the way up to Perfect.

The team was humming along so I had the mindset not to make roster moves, but I saw a some nice values in the AH and jumped on them. For example, a PEAK gold Tony Gwynn was listed buy now for 1001 PP and I've never clicked a button so fast before. Also saw historical all-star gold Ozzie Smith for 4000 and historical all-star gold Pete Rose for 3000, both are modest discounts and I could easily make 2500 PP profit flipping them later if they don't work out. The last addition was nabbing a Shawn Green to patrol CF and give me a little more power than the silver Richie Ashburn. The team has consistently been around last place in HR so I'm trying to add power without subtracting much in the process.

Grats on that insane scoring binge.

In the boxscore above I see a notation for "CBB" ... to the best of my knowledge I've never seen that, nor can I figure out what it is.... what does that stand for?
