Salary Floor

I'd like to force teams to pay x amount of dollars to their players. I know the luxary tax is in but this would help with my game worlds.

You can up the minimum salaries and player salary amounts without upping revenue, until you get the team payrolls where you want them to be, relative to their revenue.

But an NFL style salary floor where a team has to spend X% of their revenue/the salary cap on MLB payroll or something would be pretty neat.

It would indeed be neat; I just worry about how the AI would react to it. I can't think of a simple way off the top of my head to program the AI to spend to the floor. The current salary cap works by acting like a budget - if a team tries to spend over the cap, they can't finalize the deal. There's no AI programming in place that lets the computer know there's a cap; it just stops them from spending at a certain amount.

So, I like the idea, but you'd probably have to come up with a reasonable way to make the AI spend to the floor for anyone to run with it.

You'd probably have to rework the AI financial model entirely, at that point. It needs it, but still not exactly an "easy" feature after that, I'd think.

I would hope it was an easy feature but you could be right that it might be far too complex and time consuming. That would certainly explain why it hasn't been added yet.
