Schedule editor-neutral site games?
Example-Hous. Astros vs TX Rangers @ San Antonio or Cleve. Indians vs Det. Tigers @ Toledo.
Would like too see this option. Don't know how hard it would be too do with the schedule editor. |

Another idea(so it would save time scheduling neutral site games) would be for each team too have 10 designated neutral sites, listed by # 1 thru 10 on the team page so you could enter the number on the schedule so the city or site wouldn't need too be typed.

As long as it is optional, sure. Very few ML teams play at another site other then late ST. Whats wrong with just choosing a different park while in Commish mode when you are at the Start game screen?

White Sox played reg. season games in Milwaukee(before the Brewers came to town).
Devil Rays played in other cities. So did the Expos. I don't see nothing wrong with a neutral site option. Another option-playing doubleheader in city with 4 different teams(NBA did this mostly in the 1960s especially Madison Sq. Garden). Would like too see neutral site W-L record along with Home and Road W-L records in the standings, but that might be stretching it abit because of space limitations. You might have three or more teams sharing the same stadium so one option would be farm out the home games to other cities. Last edited by Orioles1966; 01-26-2014 at 11:23 AM. |

One suggestion I had was every team have an results page that lists the date, the opponent, the place, the score, winning and losing pitcher, save(if there was one) and homeruns hit. A game at a neutral site(different stadium) probably wouldn't be noted. |

It would be impossible. The Game is right: currently, the only way to schedule games at neutral sites is to change the home team's ballpark in-game (using the dropdown menu is the easiest way). OOTP only knows that games are played at the ballpark which is listed as the team's home. In order to schedule games at a neutral site, the schedule would need to have a new data field for the site of the game, which it currently does not have.

It would be a nice feature. There have been quite a few major league games played at neutral sites. In places that prohibited games on Sundays (such as Pennsylvania until the 1930s), teams would schedule games at neutral sites to evade the blue laws. The Dodgers played 15 games at Roosevelt Field in Jersey City, NJ in 1956 and 1957, in an ultimately unsuccessful effort to pressure NYC officials to allow a new stadium in Brooklyn. And a quick glance at any Negro League schedule would show that those teams played many, if not most, of their games at neutral sites.

I know in OOTP 1999. Seattle has both SAFECO & King Dome listed as it's parks.

I echo the neutral site suggestion. I run a 20-team fictional league and I've set up a neutral-site kickoff of sorts (6 games in 3 days at one venue in the New York area) a week before the start of the season.

Same with the Jays in 1989. Exhibition Stadium and the Skydome. I went to a doubleheader that year at the Dome.
