I like the Blue Jays, but without Springer and a healthy Bichette, their chances are slim. The front office screwed this team when they couldn't fill a few key spots at any time in the season and prior to it. No big ace pitcher. No Paul Molitor or Dave Winfield. Hell. No Roberto Alomar or Joe Carter. All they've got are Vladdy and Kirk. Does not look good against a team with future hall of famers and a bunch of healthy pitchers.

True but he still had to run the bases and stuff, and had his leg cramp at second base which wasn't serious but the guy is an injury prone and I just don't see that happening but who knows. World Series is all about trying to keep your guys fresh and but I certainly don't think some of the stuff that A Rod and Papi were saying about "oh they should give him the day off and start Snell instead" is gonna happen but still Ohtani played and Bieber had full rest. The bullpens are both tired but they still had some guys who didn't pitch a ton and I wouldn't understand leaving in Ohtani all game to burn out with the rest of the series to go (then again Yamamoto was ready to go last night so idk) Not saying he'll even start again on the mound after this game since he probably won't but the risk of injury and not having him be able to hit for the rest of the series is what I'm considering plus still playing the whole game last night wondering where his head is gonna be starting the next game (normally not an issue for him but when the game is upward of 6 hours long that's another thing to consider) but perhaps I am overthinking it . Even if the Dodgers entire B Team is in they'll still have a bunch of stars in the game along with them. Tired but still the stars. while they Blue Jays just have what they have possibly without Springer depending on the status of his injury, plus Ohtani will still probably be DH-ing the whole game for the Dodgers.

I still think it can go either way today though but I'm leaning more towards Dodgers winning. Even if they lose this one they'll almost certainly win the next once some of the starters are back and from there probably won't look back. Ideally if things go well he could probably go at least 6 innings which is I'm sure what they'd want but I really don't know about it. Plus most of the Dodgers bullpen who didn't pitch a ton is essentially almost all left handed. Managing a World Series is hard.

If the Blue Jays can get to Ohtani and refrain from making stupid mistakes and show patience at the plate they can win. That's a big if.

Ohtani did good, I had my doubts he'd go long given that he hadn't pitched this much in years, came off an injury a month or two ago, has a notoriously excessive sleep schedule which I'm sure was disrupted after last night and knowing how he gets hurt, the leg cramp thing last game while not major was still a bit concerning factoring all this in, plus I figured after they won last night, today would be a day to rest the starters and not kill Ohtani by making him throw too much and potentially have him get hurt in the World Series when you'd want him most.

He really did do good all game except for the home run but now it's tied and they ended up using most of their starting guys again and Will Smith.... Well that's just crazy that he was playing today. Maybe they were trying to just go for a comfortable win tonight with their main guys in hopes to just not turn back and completely finish the Blue Jays off after? It seems more like a "just push through it" type of approach.

It goes to show that baseball is more than about one player.

I didn't say it was I was explaining my reasoning why I didn't think they'd have him go that long and about moving lineups around and stuff to preserve stars.
