TGS - Long Term League Starting its 20th season looking for GM's

We have openings in TGS, a competitive, active, and positive league filled with talented GMs. The league core has been around for 5+ years as we approach our 20th season. Currently entering the playoffs of our 2040 season and looking to fill slots before the offseason.

Details regarding our league:

OOTP 26
MLB 32 teams, JPBO 12 teams
Sims on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Thursdays during the season and daily in the offseason (1 week per sim)

We use 20-80 ratings scale, scouting and coaching is off, and budgets are fairly even, putting a lot of stock in your ability to make trades effectively, handle free agents well, and draft effectively. Contract length is capped at 6 seasons and generally there's a lot of turnover, meaning no team is ever competitively safe or out of it for long.

We use Discord for league communications, and our server is very active regarding league and other topics.

We also run a smaller independent league, the JPBO, which is modeled after the Japanese Professional League and has a simpler set of rules that allow for a more reduced level of GM requirements.

JPBO:
Tokyo Golden Kites - The JPBO is setup as a streamlined league that does not have the same time commitments as out MLB league which runs off the same save. It is great for those who don't want the larger time commitments of the MLB league, want a simpler online experience, or might be in their first online league. Many of our MLB GM's have come from the JPBO and some of our MLB GM's have gone to the JPBO as their real-life situations change. GM's in JPBO get first crack at MLB openings. Both leagues use the same statsplus server and Discord.

Would recommend 10/10. Each of those franchises available in the MLB have a pretty rich story behind them.


Also the ability to change park factors help in roster construction. A lot of the managers are also deeply involved in MiLB rosters as well.


OOTP26 has presented challenges, but as we learn the ins and outs of the version we're all getting comfortable with it.


Sims run 4 times a week during the regular season and daily during the offseason.


Some more statistically inclined GM's often share projections and rankings provide scorecards for drafts and preseason.


It's a good league

I've been playing TGS since pretty early in its first iteration and it's an incredible community.

If you're a serious OOTP online player, it's as competitive as can be- I have been in five leagues and this is the only one where I've been trying to win year after year and the level of play means I may narrowly miss the playoffs for an entire competitive window. That can be frustrating for some, invigorating for others. If you like a challenge more than you like winning, this is a league for you.

And if you're newish to OOTP but want it to be a "serious" hobby, you could not ask for a more friendly, helpful, and gregarious group to help you get your footing in this game. There's a ton of knowledge present and a willingness to share it. There's also a great social aspect, and it's really enriched my (real life) baseball viewing to share the season with a bunch of great fans from around the world.

I would not recommend the league to a casual player who doesn't think they can export 4x a week, or a player already juggling three or four leagues, because without having the time to invest in participation, you're diluting the experience for everyone else. We want you if you want to be here! Go Yankees!

I've been in TGS since about 2019...it's been my only online I've ever been apart of. The league is extremely enjoyable and I highly recommend joining.

Boston and Cincinati are taken. A strong Houston team and Detroit with a good farm system remain at the MLB.
