Mark Prior Hurt Again.

In the 4th inning a line drive right off his throwing elbow. I imagine we won't be seeing him for a while. That ball was hit really hard. This is not the year for the cubs that for sure. In other news Aramis Ramirez made a great diving catch on the ball hit off of prior for the out.

So can we blame Dusty for this one too? You know, if he would have taken Prior out in the third inning this never would have happened.

Of course its dusty's fault. I didn't see him diving in front of the line drive either. I mean the ball was clearing heading toward the elbow. He should have done something.

Are you kidding? We have to blame Bartman.

And no, I don't mean this Bartman

Just saw the replay....OUCH.

The sheer volume of bad luck on the mound has reached unexplainable proportions. You know since Wood is due back soon that he's also due for a serious injury.

Even with no break or anything else, i'd imagine he'll be out AT LEAST a few weeks while the swelling goes down. No break is good news, but i think its safe to say prior will be out for a while.

What is wrong with this guy? He's snakebit! I think he should start jumping over the baselines, or have someone always toss him a ball when he goes back to the dugout or something...

Greg Maddux has had it happen to him twice he said, and both times, he made his next start 8 days later. Not saying that will happen with Prior, but I don't think he'll miss any significant time.

I hope you're right. I was hit by a pitch in high school around the elbow, and it took at least a week for me to get full mobility and another week before i could move it without tons of pain. I'm sure a line drive is faster than a high school fastball. Thats where i'm coming from with my opinion.

This never would have happened if Carlos Zambrano would stop spending so much damn time on the internet.
