facegen
have a single player league going and there are no facegen pics ... when I go into game setup under player and picture options it says facegen not initialized and all the options are greyed out ...
did I miss something when setting up the league? |

Go to Preference, select Facegen and then select one of the troubleshooting modes. See if that changes anything.

Yeah, curious myself now. Before you uninstall and reinstall, can you find the config directory? If you can't, go to the game Preference, Troubleshooting, and click on the button that says something like Open file that contains app data. Navigate to the app file itself and open it, probably with Notepad. There's a line in there that says Enable Facegen, I think. It should have a 0. If it says 1, change it to 0, then close the game.
If for some reason it doesn't allow you to edit while the game's open, at least you will know where that file is located and make the change after you leave the game. Close and boot back up after you've done this. The surprise in this for me is that neither troubleshooting modes changed anything. If we don't find a solution, make sure we get a ticket submitted.

Okay, make sure that Disable line is 0 and the one below it, I think, Facegen Mode, is set to 1.

Okay, something is very peculiar here, and I don't know what it is to be honest. At this point, I'd do an uninstall and reinstall. By the way, facegen has always worked for you before, right? Your saved game won't be affected but if there's something amiss in the setup, that should cure it. You're using the latest patch or setup version, too, right?

honestly I couldn't tell you if facegen has worked in OOTP12 but I know it did in OOTP11 ... I already tried uninstalling and reinstall and it's the same deal ... no idea on this one ...

Well, doggone it Hanson, I've reached all my first steps and nothing. So, I'd submit a ticket on it and zip up your .dat files for the league and get them uploaded to make sure it's not an issue, though I seriously doubt it. You haven't made any hardware changes, right? Your graphics card is the same as it was in v11?
I'll think on it. Sometimes if I don't think about for awhile, something'll come to me we can try and I'll PM you or post here again. I'm sorry I couldn't have been more help.

No problem. That one never crossed my mind because, using my laptop, I'd turned all of that off so I'm never asked. Great news and thanks for reporting back what did work. It will help others in the future, I am certain.

In Win7, it's through control panel -> user accounts. I'm thinking, though, that you're using Vista?

Wish I recalled the details, but I think it was simply go the User Account, change the security settings (right click?) and adjusted a slider downward to Never Ask. If you don't see it, let me know and I'll go back, look at it, and grab a screenshot or give you better instructions.
