I love it! I hate it!

Taking the MLB quick start and simming ahead 10 years I found myself as the new GM of the Rays (GM Only mode). It seems that in the next ten years Tampa residents will start supporting the franchise in somewhat better numbers. This has allowed Mr. Steinberg to loosen the purse strings a bit.

Looking at the roster I inherited, I have a butcher of a 2nd baseman who is a CF with 7 Range, 8 Arm,6 Contact, and 7 Power (on a 2-8 scale), and a 3rd baseman who just might be the love child of Scott Rolen and Mike Schmidt.

I use the search function to find in the FA pool two middle infielders who are gold glove winners in the last three years and are on the underside of 30. Contact and glove men I think. Get one for 2nd, one for SS, the Rolen/Schmidt love child at 3rd. Man my IF defense will be the best in the game and my crusty lifer manager who says he has full control over lineups and strategy will move the butcher to CF and let him hit his 30 HR in CF.

What happens?

One of the Middle Infielders I just signed goes to SS, the other to 3rd, the butcher stays at 2nd, and Love child goes to DH. Crusty manger sits in his office chuckling.
