Could not open user default folder misc

I get the above message when trying to load the game today. I have 104 hours logged already.

What's happened?

Does this happen when loading OOTp itself, or a specific saved game you're playing? Can you post a screenshot of the error? Thanks!

When loading OOTP itself. I get two messages now.....

I haven't touched anything in regards to files, just what the game installed. I am in an online league and have installed those files. Not sure if that would affect anything?

It shouldn't, unless something went horribly wrong in a very unusual way.

Did anything on your system change around the time you noticed this starting? New software installed, new hardware, OS update etc?

Ok, Can you try the following? This is more or less basic Steam troubleshooting, you may've already tried some of it.

- Open Steam and go to Library
- Right click on OOTP 19 and select Properties
- Select the Local Files tab and click on Verify Integrity of Game Files. This will check to see if the game files may have been corrupted.

If the integrity check is not successful or if you are still having problems, please also try this:
- Go back to Library
- Right click on OOTP 19 and select Delete Local Content
This will basically uninstall the game from your computer, and you will need to download it again.

Let me know if that changes anything.

I did the Verify and it found one file. I loaded the game and it installed a lot of stuff. The game loaded and seems to be working fine now. Many Thanks, i'll let you know if any issue going forward
