These last few OOTP releases have been focused mainly on legacy issues. It's better to have a game that works than a lot of flashy features that don't.

it seems on average each batch gets sent around 8 to 11am New York time.... Some years you get it early some years you get them late once in a blue moon you don't get it until you mention it on forums when you return home (in the past was done on Fridays)

i recall last year and previous years it coming in the early evening, sometimes late afternoon.

Was about to pre-order it, until I saw the exchange rate you guys are using for USD to CAD. Why isn't it the market rate? I'm supposed to pay like 55 bucks for the pre-order price?

First year I haven't taken off work for OOTP, and now I have to wait at work until the end of the day to go home and download and play the new game...

Really frustrated at myself, this is going to be a super super long day.

I am perfectly willing to take responsibility for the "delay" or the fact that it hasn't been released yet because I went to work...

Question: is the full game similar to a patch over the Beta? How hard will it be to transfer over a game that I start today once the finished product is released?

No transferring required. Just patch the game and play it.
