New Fictional League
Hi all,
I am a first time commish, but longtime player. I am going to run a small fictional league for OOTP14 If you have an interest, throw me a pm here, Thanks Here's the bare bones of it: The Ball of Base league will be a small fictional League. We will start with 12 teams each with 2 levels of minor leagues. Participants will be able to select thier Location/Team Name. It will take place in the present day meaning that modern rules and financials will be used. Scouting: ON Coaches: OFF Suspensions: ON (normal) Drug Suspensions: ON Injuries: ON (normal) Player Fatigue: Average Ratings Scales: 1-20 Coach/Scout Ratings: 1-20 DH: OFF Active Roster: 25-man Playoff/expanded Roster: 40-man Rule-5 draft: ON Trades: ON Draft &Trade: on Draft Pick Trading: Only for the upcoming draft* 10/5 rule: On Amateur Draft: ON* Singing Bonus: ON 2012 CBA: ON Ticket pries must remain within a set range* Visiting team gets a 20% share Free agency after 5 years International Free agents: On* Arbitration after 3 years F/A compensation: On All teams will get equal media contracts (not based on market size) Owner Decides Budget Luxery tax: ON* (thinking of doing a steep luxury tax for those who go over budget) Cash Max: 10M Inaugural Fantasy Draft: ON (serpentine and randomly generated) Last edited by Jax Powers; 04-19-2013 at 09:47 PM. |

I'm interested in your league as a first time player if you are willing to put up with a newbie.

Luxury tax applies to payrolls not budgets. With the owner in control of budget, the player will have no control, so I would be cautious on only house rules associated with budget.
Are market sizes going to be the same or just the initial media contracts? * = means what? Thanks

I might as well have put an (*) around the whole thing, XD Being new to commishing, I am looking for any help I can get. What I'll most likely do is set market sizes the same (as well as anything else I need to), to make this a fair game for all, (minus the scouts, I think). What I think you are implying is that, more needs to be done in order to accomplish this. The league hasn't been created yet, so changes can be made. I appreciate the heads up here. |

My apologies, I wasn't trying to imply anything. I was looking for more detail on the league set up. A balanced league setup, if that is the objective, is very difficult to achieve in OOTP. The financial engine wants to create inflation so you will need a plan as to how you intend to achieve that. That was what I was looking for.
The "*" made me believe the option might still be in doubt. I was just trying to get clarification.

interested as well...I sent PM
I have tried to tinker with financials many times as well, but for the most part, it's just as enjoyable for me with the default settings... Last edited by dcompguru; 04-17-2013 at 10:14 AM. |

Have an interest in joining. Very possible would have a very active GM wanting to come along as well. We have both been playing for a number of years.

To all who have posted, Thank you.
We are currently full, but do have plans to expand in the future. Keep an eye out here in a bit, as we will be expanding to 16-20 teams in the future. |
