Do players perform poorly when first moved up from Reserve to Active?

Just wondering if there's something in the code which forces newly promoted players to "acclimate" to the major league. Seems whenever I move hot live players like Hiura, McNeil, LeMahieu, or Devers into my lineup (up from the reserve roster), they all flounder for at least the first 4-5 games. Is this by design? And does moving players back and forth from Active to Reserve have any negative impact on their performance (other than the minimum 14 days on the Reserve roster)?

No "rust" in PT.

Many players have posted reserve being successful in the first 10 games. Getting a few tails on multiple 50:50 coin flip is normal.
