OK next question: How do I train guys? Does the progression happen naturally or do I have any power over it?

If you want someone to learn a new position put him there either in the minors or ST and he will learn it quicker. Make sure he has the ratings to play that position. Intelligence and attitude matter for learning a new position. Getting better they do on their own.

Yes, although it's difficult to quantify.

Yes. I haven't done much with coaches yet in 16, but their abilities absolutely have an effect on player development, as does morale (per Markus). However, it's difficult to say exactly how much of an influence they have.

I think that's about right, too. As a GM, you should strive to get what you believe to be the best coaches. But you're never really 100% sure that even the coach with a great reputation is having some obvious direct impact on player development. I mean, if a player develops well under coach A, coach A probably had SOME impact. But there's never any way to know if the player might have developed the same way, or better, or worse, under coach B.

In the draft pool, under demand, a lot have listed "slot". What does that mean?

Basically what they would get for getting drafted in that spot. I never offer slot. LGO can explain it best most likely.

As far as 26 players injured, what is your injury setting and how good is your trainer? It is above average but not terrible.

Cobra, I think you missed what The Game was asking. In Game Settings under Players & Facegen there is an Injury Frequency drop-down. What is that set to?

As far as the other part, it's the same reason as in real life: agents, and individual player personalities. Some players are just willing to take the "slot" which is kind of the "recommended amount." Others want more and so on. When you draft it gives an indication of what they are looking for. So, smaller market teams might need to take that into consideration when they sign players looking for big bucks.

My bad. It is at Normal (OOTP Classic). I've never clicked on that section before. Didn't know it was there.

So normal can have a good number of injuries. How big is your organization? What are the injuries like? What do other teams' injuries look like?

If your organization has 200 players, 26 is only a little more than 10%. If a good portion of those are short term or day to day, it makes sense. If your team looks different from others, it sounds like you might just have had a run of bad luck. Can you post screen shots of the list of your injured players and their injuries?

I hardly have anyone out for a week or even a month. Most are out multiple months. I started w/4 out for the year.I would say half or 2/3rds are out for more than half the year.

I don't know how to post a screenshot of the game. Currently, "June 6th", 6 out til March minimum. 14 should be back by the All-Star break. 7 are due before the season ends.

I took over the Rays. Just renamed them the Carolina Cobras. 2 single a teams & one each in the higher ones.

I have a rookie & 3 Hispanic farm teams, but they haven't started playing yet

So, I suspect your organization has somewhere in the neighborhood of 150-200 players. It definitely sounds like you have had a serious run of bad luck, but I wouldn't stress too much about it unless you see that pattern continue over several years.

Don't worry about the stars. If your player is playing well, that's all that matters.
