Question about scores
I'm sorry if this has been answered already, but I am curious about the scoring system at the end of each season (the ones found in Manager History). I've played through a few seasons, and keep getting semi-low scores. My highest so far has been a 540 after a 92-70 season and wining the World Series. While a couple of seasons before I went 90-72 making the playoffs (don't remember how far I got) and only getting a 277. So, my question is, what is the grading system there? The more you win the higher your score, and it gets even higher if you win the WS? The only way to get a 1000 is to have a 162-0 season and win the WS? Or is it also based on your roster moves (trading and what not) plus what you win?
I don't really care about it, as long as I'm wining the WS I don't really care what my score is, I'm just curious how its determined. Thanks in advance. |

Not sure but you can get over 1000. I do know the better you do based on what is expected raises your score.

Might it have something to do with the results:budget ratio?

I think it usually does with what type of team you take over. If you take over a poor team (like the Phillies) and win the world series you will get a significant higher score than taking over a team with a huge budget that is a stacked, and winning a world series with them.

I had a stacked team that in the regular season was tied with the best record in baseball with a 96-66 record that lost the world series. My final score was 584 for that.

I don't know the exact formula, but I do know that it has to do with the difficulty of doing well with your team vs. how well you do. For example, win the World Series with this year's Phillies and your score will be off the charts. Even if you get close to the playoffs, you should still have a pretty good score.
But if you use commish mode to put great players on the team, or edit ratings, or do something similar to make the team stacked, then you will be scored accordingly. The game will know you have an awesome team, so if you win the World Series, you'll have a decent score, but nothing amazing. |
