Wow, didn't expect I'd get the chance to play on the US National Development Team like that, I must've had a lot of promise as a young goalie in midget. Nice that I got to play close to home for a couple years before going off to college in Minnesota. Hopefully I can crack the Islanders roster one day, or even end up with my hometown Red Wings later in my career.

the Los Angeles Kings were 14th in the league at the end of the 2019-2020 season. They were sweep by the Arizona Coyotes who were then eliminated in 5 by the Flames.

John Kay had a ATOI of 17:12 which put you i believe in the second paring of defensemen.

I'm surprised Kirby Pal is going back to school again-- he's an excellent goaltender, and definitely NHL-ready.

Poor Toronto... took a guy 2nd overall who can't pass, can't defend, and can't skate, and didn't develop much since his draft year. Poor determination and poor professionalism sure do a number on a guy's development! Then again, we took Tyler Biggs in the first round a few years ago, and that turned out equally well

I am not totally sure what happen with Kirby Pal. Like you said, he's definitively ready to go in the NHL, but for a strange reason he never signed with the Islanders. Either it's the way the game handle NCAA or it's weird shenanigans that the islander never offered him a contract before.

For Janek Nogas I am not sure either what happened to him. Shown great potential when playing in Poland but crumbled a bit.

whenever I create a young player they never end up getting drafted, did you do anything in particular for it to draft the players?

I didnt create a new player. I used another 14 years old player to edit. i just found players in the same region and major role no mater the rating and i edited them. It might be annoying thought if you end up having to 'supress' a high rated prospect for the futur but well in a way you replace him with another good one

With all the due respect, this is quite poor career path development by the game.
I dunno what's more unrealistic between:
- a player drafted second overall out of the mighty Polish U18 league
- such a great prospect NEVER playing pro hockey in Poland, considering how "strong" the Polish league is
- such a great prospect staying in Poland until 18 and not moving to Sweden/Finland/Germany/Switzerland
- moving directly from Polish U18 league to AHL

I am a bit disappointed with the way the game handle the not-playable leagues as well. Its hard to understand the logic of the game because of that. I believe it would be something in the stats of the player that would make him want to not play for other league than the NHL or something ?

It's really hard to understand so i am just letting the game goes not trying to figure out what happened to the players

That's what I was curious about. I suggested a second nationality of Canadian to mitigate any problems which I suppose made a difference. If he didn't have a second nationality of a major hockey power, would he still have been drafted?

I did not expect him to be drafted in any North American leagues. Seriously, look at his skating and passing! What the hell was Toronto thinking? I was expecting him to be signed in a lower tier European league. At best, if he developed, he might be able to play in the KHL. I sort of modelled him after the German David Wolfe, who managed one game with the Flames last year. Big, tough, dirty but certainly no skill beyond the AHL level at best.

This might explain why I'm seeing a different development path in my game. I created a new player versus editing someone in the proper region. Good to know!

It is weird I chose 4 years of college but at least I finally made it to the big time. I hope I can play well in Brooklyn with the Islanders for a few years, and maybe finally get my first career shut out one of these days.
