Historical simming in fictional league to crown best franchise team

I know FHM 2 and OOTP shouldn't be compared, but ...

One thing I enjoy using OOTP for is to simulate seasons between a franchise decade by decade (i.e. Cubs of 1990-1999) and then simulate a season of all the decade winners to crown a Franchise all time best team.

Will that be possible to do in FHM 2? I would like to see which Blackhawks or Black Hawks team would be the all time best.

What are the steps involved to do it in OOTP? I'm just trying to wrap my head around the project to determine if such a thing is possible in FHM 2. Obviously, as you can imagine, we don't have near as much flexibility in our version 2 as compared to a version 16 of OOTP, but, certain things are similar to OOTP of course. So let me know how you make this work in OOTP and I'll let you know if I think it's possible in FHM2. Although my first thought is, probably not.

In OOTP in the start up menu choose Fictional League and then in Step 1 choose the league structure.
Step 2 - there's a dialogue box where you can switch between historical teams or name editor
Then there are drop down boxes where you choose year and team

This functionality is not built directly into FHM 2, no... There may be a way to do something like this indirectly, but it would likely take a whole lot of work and patience.

I am planning to bring the WHA(1970s) into the modern game and change the current players names to that of WHA players and go from there. Might bring in some historical NHL teams to fill the league and use the same players during that time period(changing current players names).

I could care less about players ratings so playing with the real players is more important.
