Crashes

Post all reports regarding game crashes here. Please include as many details as possible, particularly when it occurred and what you were doing at the time. If you do get a repeatable crash, please keep your most recent save file as we may ask to see it.

April 3 Update: If you get a crash, we'd like to see the save game. Please see this thread for details.

I have had 2 crashes, but when I went back into the game, the same action that caused the crash did not do it again:

1. Hitting ESC to stop the "Sim to Preseason Start" crashed the first time, but not the second time.
2. Clicking on a menu option during the "Sim to Preseason Start" crashed the first time, but not the second time.

I do realize that unrepeatable crashes aren't much help...

My first crash

Playing historical game 1947 managing Detroit Red Wings. In the lineup screen clicked on the action/ let assistant set lineup and immediate crash to desktop.
Will attempt a repeat.

Does it every time but maybe this feature is not yet enabled?
Scratch my crash : user error. Guess it help to actually dress 17 players before trying to set lineups. Might be a good idea to have a warning message pop up saying what the problem is instead of crashing though

My first crash:

In the Trade section as the Blue Jackets trying to sort my players by Offensive Skill from the dropdown, and it crashed. Windows bug report had this:

Fresh game as the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Go to Free Agent Center and Select Ty Rimmer. Offer him a contract

It will tell you he is too old (maybe a bug in and of itself).

From here we can crash one of two ways:

1.) Hit Reset Changes

2.) Make any Changes to the offered contract and 'Ask for Response'

My game keeps crashing while attempting to play a game. The game will play fine after hitting the play button for anywhere between 10 game seconds to a few minutes and then the game stops responding and closes.

I don't know if any of this is relevant but here you go!

Great guys, keep the reports coming. We will look into crashes first to make the game stable as soon as possible so please help us by posting every crash you have with as much details as possible.

Game keeps crashing at the same day, seems to be right after a weekly auto save. No matter if I choose finish day, play to a certain day, week or month it will continually crash on the same day.

First game crash:

I was controlling the Colorado Avalanche. I had just finished my first full season and off season. After signing free agents, I simulated to the start of the preseason. When it stopped at the beginning of the preseason, I went to change my lineup. I clicked the 'Ask assistant' button on the lineup screen, and the game crashed.

I just went and tried the same thing a second time and it crashed a second time.

Ok, having a repeatable crash here.

Playing NHL as LA Kings. D Willie Mitchell gets hurt in training on Sunday October 28th. No problem I place him on IR. I recall RW Anthony Stewart and complete my lineup replacing Mitchell with Ellerby. Now something is buggy since I have to place Stewart on waivers to recall here, so there's a first problem. But whatever he clears. I play on October 29th, so I go to sim the game by going to next day. It gives me a warning that LA Kings have sent down Stewart? What? But whatever, so I click to finish day again to play the game and the game crashes every time.

This appears to happen whenever I place a player on IR and try to recall somebody it seems, I think this is a similiar to my save game file I lost when Lewis got hurt.

Playing my first season as the Lightning in a current game, sent Garon down to the minors and then called up Desjardins. When I went to look at my lineup Desjardins was not there for the big club, and Garon had not appeared on Syracuse's roster. I went to sim to the next day to see if that would fix it and the game crashed. I was excited to get back in, though, and forgot to grab the bug log.

When I did go back in, i tried to do the same thing and again neither player appeared on the respective roster after moving them, but I was able to sim through that day and they immediately appeared on their rosters without crashing.

I've since continued on with the same file and saved, so it's not at the exact same point that it kept crashing at. Hopefully that's ok. I just messed around with it a bit more, and it seems to crash if you use ask assistant when you don't have enough players dressed. One or two doesn't seem to make a difference, but being 5-6 dressed players short seems to crash it. I've been able to recreate the crash 5 or so times, so it's definitely repeatable

Game keeps crashing after first year. Going to try "Running as Admin" but doubt it will work. Going to sleep now so will have to test it more in a few days.

I have a repeating crash to report.

Right now, I am simply playing around with Fantasy Hockey Manager, letting the A.I. handle the team and just simming the games.

My save is right before July 1st free agency and once I try to sim to July 1st, it will crash.

Repeated this five times, same results.

I was getting something like that earlier today but couldn't get it to repeat reliably. What usually stopped the crashing was loading another game then exiting, going back to the crashing game, and advancing day-by-day. If you can still get it to crash every time on July 1 after doing that, Sebastian will probably want to have a look.

Tried editing a Free Agents name and save changes. (Only details I changed.) Game stopped working.

I tried this a couple of times on different players and when I save changes I crash.

Additional notes:

Started game in GM mode and changed it to commisioner mode afterwards.

EDIT:

I also noticed I can edit existing players on teams and it works fine. It only crashes on free agents. (Perhaps these are randomly generated players?)

Just took over as manager of the KHL(NA) Boston Braves. Played a game and lost 4 -0.

Then added (5) NHL players to the team and a free agent defensemen.
Hit-Finish Today and the game crashes. Has done this 4 times in a row and can't advance.

I've added players before without problem.
