Confirmation on the theory that these cards are stacked into the starter packs: I just started a third team to try a market-only strategy rather than pack-only, and I pulled a blistering FIVE of the Iron Unsung Hero category.

Seems like the market has fallen off on these Iron Unsungs. A few weeks ago I sold one for 4 figures, this past week I listed 6 of them and they all went only just north of 200. On my collector account I bid up the low priced ones to 200 every once in a while. That's the floor now, and the ceiling has shrunk a lot.

There's tons in the AH now as people look to cash in, so the oversupply is driving the price down.

Supply varies wildly. Last week it was between three and a dozen pages. The thing is that some people obviously seem to have multiples of the same card, and put all of them up at the same time for like 4k, when not even one of those will sell. 90% of all IUH auctions seem to be like that.

I bought into a pile of these, but I haven't gone over 160 or something like that. I bought a duplicate for 160 and flipped it for 400, so the ceiling is not quite as low yet.

God only knows how many of these I have quick sold

I had no idea there was a market for these.

Am I a terrible person for hoping the 'reward' for the collection is a 40 overall 1905 Moonlight Graham?

Yeah I think I am

Snatched up Sheldon Jones and Mark Koenig for 125 PP combined this morning while all of you were asleep.

As of last Monday they added:

CL Tug McGraw Unsung 93 and SP Mitch Harris Unsung 42.

Haven't seen Harris yet but Tug finally showed up for the first time in the AH today and someone has already bid 45,000 with a 99,000 BIN for a card that has a slightly higher FIP than 89 Bruce Sutter who sells for 8K... Too much for me but great for someone rounding up a Phillies theme team or someone looking for a good Left handed closer...

The 1st Mitch Harris is up and already up to 38000 for an unsung iron 42

Thing is every week or so they will be adding new unsung heroes. They can literally make anyone an unsung... Like the new Tug McGraw? Not exactly 'unsung' in 1980. I was very much alive and very much seeing him on TV all the time and getting many accolades during and after the season.

EDIT: No sooner did I post this another hit the AH with a 100,000 BIN LOL

He's more trouble than he's worth.

Not even good as a backup. Every time I play him the game automatically substitutes one of my other bench players for him before his first at bat.

Tends to be an extreme pull hitter in that he is always asking to be pulled off the field to hit on young girls...

Doc my ass...

2nd Mitch Harris went up today. Has a bid and will sell for a minimum of 36 K.

Thats the second highest price ever for an iron/bronz/silver. Last nights Mitch Harris at 38 K obv the highest.

I pulled 2 IRON unsung hero's last night...and in not that many packs. It is possible. Not going to be paying that kind of price for Mitch Harris tho my max on these cards is 5 K which i broke once to acquire Lefferts.

I would never pay 5k for any of these. I am not even paying 500 right now. I wouldn't pay 5k if a complete set came with a massage and lifelong valet service...

Yeah, you wouldn't want to crack a rib on that massage!

FYI, we all should be seeing more of these now. I put in a bug report a while back because they were coming in as blank cards. When that happened you would need to log out and back in to actually see them in your collection. That is fixed now. They are sill kind of rare, but not as much as I once thought anyway. I even got one of those closers last night!

it would amuse me greatly if the reward for a mission collecting unsung iron pitchers was just a regular pack

Did they ever say there would be a reward for collecting any Unsung Heroes? Would be an interesting mission prize to collect them all but I highly doubt collection prizes will ever be anything uber substantial. I have almost all of them but didn't spend actual USD in the hopes of a prize. I play an unsung team now on one of my accounts that does okay. At least for Pitching. Batting is average. They seem to release a new one every week or two so hoping they will start adding some more options in the field...

My theory is, ever since they dropped the Mitch Harris card in the Veterans pack, the drop rate for Unsung Hero Iron cards in packs has increased *significantly*.
