Still no 3D?

As long there is no 3D as Footballmanager or OOTP, I won't buy this game.

I think the UI needs a lot of love coming forward.
-First of all, i like training overhaul, really great. I'd like a digital values to be added to the players skills when selecting a training. you can't have every player memorised, it'll save a lot of clicks and time.
-Second, add the setup/options to the home sub-menus (manager home, news, notes, options, game setup)
Have all games classic by default. A common question for a newer player is something like "why does my team has 5000 giveaways and the second worst is 420?". It is tiresome at this point, going for like 5-6 years.
-Third, more stats. More advanced stats. More regular team stats. 5v5 goals, 5v5 shots, quality shots allowed. Etc etc. I'm not an expert in this, hopefully someone more informed and educated will help with this.
-4th, improved ME (both classic and 2d)

I agree with the Swede. Tactics screen need an UI overhaul, and match engine need some adjustment and tweaking.
the information the game provides is unclear and incomplete.
I'll give you an example:
PP OZ Attacking 1-3-1
-Increases the chance of the team's forwards getting in good position to take a shot.
-Forwards with good puckhandling skills and offensive awareness.
-C plays deepest, RP plays low.
I'm playing since FHM 6, i still don't know who plays in front of the net and who is on the right flank. If i had to guess, RW plays net and LP plays right wing, but LP almost never scores (i tried this exact setup with TBL and Kucherov and Stamkos in previous versions, failed miserably.)
I think that EHM style of UI and visualisation is something the team should consider for implementation and ME adjustement. I'm no UI expert, but i'll make an example in attached files.

I'm not asking for better ai logic, it's trash in every game anyway (nhl 26, football manager, you name it) and probably only AI himself can fix it in the future.

I am hard on this one too. It should be one of the big points for FHM13. A complete rework of tactics.

Make it more usable. Explain it better. Visualize more. It should be selfexplanatory to beginners and experts - what the tactic is and how it works in the game. What player skills are necessary to play this tactic, what might be missing? Make it more impactful on the game, also when changing tactics during the game.

Also many good smaller sugestions in the thread that make sense.

Oh and importantly. Can you make the trade buttons work in the EU leagues?

There are actually player for player trades happening in the EU leagues. Not as much in NA, but they happen:

Then I guess you'll be missing out. Football Manager and OOTP have much bigger budgets and resources to work with than FHM. Hockey games aren't near as popular as baseball and soccer games. Games like FHM are even less popular than other hockey games, which is why their budget is limited. They do allow modding though for the 2D game.

What can be modded where the 2D gameplay is concerned?

A few more suggestions for the next version:

1) Denoting the difference between a 5-on-4, 5-on-3, and 4-on-3 power play goal, and if a goal was scored 6-on-4 or 6-on-5

2) Denoting the difference between a 4-on-5, 3-on-5 and 4-on-6 shorthanded goal

3) A reworking of the results screen. First, have the result of the game more prominent and easier to see - the visual I keep coming back to is an old-time scoreboard, with the team name, logo and score, all in a huge font. Also, having the updated series record in the playoffs displayed somewhere too would be huge

4) In the lineups screen, denoting which forward is the center, so we know which column to fill with centers and which to put wingers
