League Logo Request

Hey guys! I know that there are a few of you out there that enjoy creating logos.

I think I have a fun one for you guys. (Truthy, where you at buddy? It's OJeffK)

We're in the process of forming a new alternate universe, fictional league with a '90s start date. The basic premise is that the cold war didn't actually end. Instead, it escalated to nuclear war and the United States as we know it has been decimated and is now occupied by soviet Russia. A small group of freedom fighters launched a revolution and the rest is history.

Baseball is returning to the United States, but it is just a shell of it's former self and that is a great thing. The players are in it for the love of the game. The fans are in it for the love of their country and its timeless pastime.

We've got a nice website built out and I'm looking to have a banner and logo created to match the overall site theme.

Thanks ahead of time for the help here guys! Can't wait to see what you guys are able to create!

Your league intiails are U. S.O.B.....fitting.

Lemme know what kind of ideas you might have on something and I can see if I can make something up that will be about 20% of what you were thinking.

Here's my first idea. I got the star idea from the ussr military star when I was looking up sickle & hammer but then realized...ummm....they are occupied by Russia and prolly wouldn't want any recognition of Russia. I went with a more straight star instead of the the one in the military pic. Take that Russia!!

So here's my first take....

**edited a couple of white spots on the logo**

It's a hell of a start! Love the thought around the star. I also had thoughts around around the sickle and hammer...but more along the lines of something symbolizing the revolution. Think we could incorporate it all busted up? Like the hammer broken?

I'm not sure incorporating it inside the logo is actually going to flow instead I imagine it coming off as looking 'pasted' on there.....so how about an incorporation of a broken sickle & hammer like this? A 150 included to show how it would look smaller.

Well I guess I could just place it in there and let u decide...not as 'pasted' as I thought it was going to turn out.....and I guess the freedom fighters are tossing baseball grenades on the hammer & sickle??

That's fantastic! I like it incorporated in. Only thing I think it's missing now is a little depth. Maybe a drop shadow and a shine highlight or something? What do you think?

Here's some check mark options...and now that I've stepped away and came back....I think that thing turned out pretty well. Glad I went ahead and put the hammer and sickle inside cuz that turned out to be it. I like that logo and think it fits well with the premise of the league.

Now if I could just convince you to throw together a header image for the site...

Ok...this is to show a basic idea of a typical banner. This is 850x150 but I can redo it when you post a size. Used the pic from the front page and kind of resembles the opening day and maybe honoring the revolution and should ya know....be honored in your banner. Or maybe not. Just a first brainstorm to get the ball rolling.

Here are the rgb colors if you ever need them, that I used.
