SP in Relief in elimination games

Do you think you might tighten the logic on this? I just had my next day starting pitcher come in to "save" game 6 by getting two outs in the 9th. My team used no other pitches and had other somewhat tired relievers.

Naturally this forced a tired pitcher to start game 7.

Shouldn't that guy who they forced to pitch game 7 really be the guy that gets called, not the next guy who is needed for that crucial game7?

if there is a non-exhausted reliever you have the lead and are going home for game 7, maybe you try to preserve the pitcher set to pitch it. Instead he threw 5 pitches and was unable to start, forcing a somewhat tired guy to pitch who soiled the bed.

Had this occur several times, though never quite as unnecessarily as this.

Maybe there would not have been a game 7, had a somewhat tired reliever come on in Game 6 to try to save the game.

Think they need to make starters less effective as relievers in general tbh. Either that or be a lot more generous with reliever and closer ratings, as at the moment there are maybe a handful of relievers genuinely worth having over starters in your pen, and even they are touch and go
