Game does not update player photos
I am playing a replay of 1948. I have put a folder with the 1948 photos & logos in the OOTP17 folder. I changed the location of the photos & logos to the 1948 on the Database page according to the manual. The data base now shows the new location for photo for this game. Then when to the Players & Facegen page for that game and told it to force an update of the pictures. I then saved the game, exited and restarted. The pictures and logos are not updated. I can update individual pictures in the edit mode but that is time consuming for an entire league. How do I force the that 1948 game to update the photos from the location I changed it the database?

Yes, I changed the location in the setting in the database. Then I forced update player pictures under the Players & Facegen tab. When I do that, nothing happens, e.g. no update bar or notice that they are being update. Is there someplace else to force the update?

1. Go to your saved game's news\html\images\person_pictures folder, open it and delete everything. 2. Do the same in the profile_pictures folder. 3. Then open your saved game's news\html\images\league_logos and delete those. 4. Do the same in the team_logos folder. 5. Start/restart ootp and it will rebuild all those images and you should be all set. This has never failed for me and is the easiest way to get er done. Last edited by Bigrod; 06-02-2016 at 12:53 AM. |

That worked. Thanks. That tip should be in the manual. It would save a lot of frustration!

As I said in my last post, that procedure worked. However, I am playing four different years of historical. The procedure worked for three of them but, for some reason, it doesn't work for 2001. It only 'loads' a couple of pictures in the two players folders. I tried it numerous time to no avail. I double checked the database setting to the correct 2001 player photos also. I ended up starting a new game for 2001 with a different name. During setup I set the database locations for photos and logos to where I had them set in the original 2001 game. After it loaded the new game I check the two player folders in the news/html/image folders and all the pictures were there. So, I copied those two folders to my original 2001 game and the pictures showed up in the game. Why your process did not work for 2001, I have no idea.
