OOTP9 and Windows 7 Beta.

OOTP9 installed and works with Windows 7 Beta. I installed Windows 7 Beta on a new hard drive, then installed OOTP9 with one of my leagues from my Vista hard drive. Everthing seems to be in good working order.
I will keep you posted if anything happens.

Use Firefox, not IE!

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

I'm confused by the comment about IE because the OP is on about the new operating system, not the new browser.

Good to know it works on the new OS

OOTP 9 does work on the new Windows 7 Beta operating system. As I mentioned in my first post, I installed OOTP 9 on a new hard drive that has Windows Beta 7 operating system just to see if it would work.
Over the next few days, I will experiment with OOTP 9 and Windows 7 Beta operating system to see if there are any glitches.
I will keep you posted.

Oh good to hear. I just installed Windows 7 last night and I really love it. I don't know what I'm going to do in fall when it expires. I might have to try out OOTP on this OS to see if it runs any smoother.

I too will be following this topic, since I plan on installing the beta as soon as I get paid and can buy another external drive to back up everything

Windows 7 beta and OOTP 9

Just an FYI:

OOTP 9 works well in windows 7 beta, seems a little bit faster as well.

Thanks,

Josh

No, thank you for the double dose of good news! (Windows 7 being one.)

from the brief time I have had playing with Windows 7, I expect a lot of things to run better on it. The operating system itself seems to be less of a resource hog, allowing more resources to go to the programs hthat are running

Win7 & OOTP9..Good News...

I am glad to hear that OOTP9 works with Win 7 beta. I just loaded the beta last night and thought about installing OOTP9 at work today and figured I would check the forums to see what other people have experienced.

I agree with a previous poster about Win 7 running smoother. I installed Win 7 on my Sony VAIO laptop because the XP was starting to chug along. I am a lot happier with the response time now using Win 7. Hopefully it will last!

Will give OOTP9 a shot tonight. If it works I will have my "complete" laptop back. Not complete until OOTP can run.

Good Night!

Rob.

Vista is Windows 6 which you can see if you look at the Windows version field (can't remember where it is exactly)
XP was Windows 5
95 was Windows 4 (ME was probably 4.5)

OK, I was counting ME as its own version. But if I were Microsoft, I would want to forget that one too.

I assume installing OOTP on a new Win7 partition will use up a license?

I've got OOTP running on Vista and I'd like to dual boot with Win7. I don't want to nuke the Vista install or unlicense OOTP in Vista until I'm sure Win7 will be compatible with all my hardware.

I know we're going off-topic with this, but what about 98?

Windows 98 definitely counts because every computer in the school where I teach uses it. Sad, really.
