Why is my schedule resetting?
I’m trying a few things out as I get ready for building a new league in OOTP 20. I built a test league and imported the schedule I want. I summed through a season to see if things worked how I wanted them to and all seemed ok.
However, when I went to look at the schedule for the next season to make sure everything was ready to aim year 2, the schedule had reset to an AI generated schedule instead of using the one I imported. Any thoughts on why this happened? |

I've had this problem with every version of OOTPB I've played (6.5, 13, 14, 16, 17, and 18). I don't know if 19 still has the problem since I haven't started a 2nd season with it.
I just re-import the schedule I created for myself before each season. This means that I get the same team match-ups at the same points of each season, but I can live with that, |

I was using a schedule that I downloaded off of the schedules forum. I imported it into my game. (It’s an 8 team, 42 game schedule based on a Hoofdklasse Honkball schedule. The games are split up quite a bit with only 3 or 4 each week. There is a several week break in the middle of the season. It ends in late July or early August.) It was created several years ago but it did import fine and then worked for the first season. The next season, the schedule was a much more traditional schedule with 6 games a week, running from April through May. It seemed to be a scheduled created by the game.

I went back to the manual and realized I had missed something. I renamed the schedule file to match the name of the saved game. That seems to have worked.

if you want the same exact schedule every year...
make a copy of that schedule add a comment that provides alphanumeric order. e.g. mlb_C_A.lsdl mlb_C_B.lsdl it will rotate between those in perpetuity without jumbling the matchups. with just 1 schedule, it will re-use, but the mathups will be different -- in same proportions of course. also, if any other schedules match your league's name, i'd rename those or rename your league to avoid auto-selecting those schedules and using in sequence. |
