FIP Calculation

Anyone know which version of the FIP Stat formula that XI uses? I am building my geek spreadsheet for a leaugue that is just moving into ver. XI.

Thanks!

I don't have an answer to your question (but here's a friendly bump)... and I would love to see that spreadsheet.

Are there different ways to calculate it? I know you can do FIP+ by normalizing HR/FB (any maybe something else), but given that the game labels it as FIP I assume they're just using:

((HR*13 + BB*3 - K*2) / IP) + 3.2

That gets me close, and infact matches some players displayed FIP, but not all.

for example

Williamson Prushnok
HR=2
BB=0
K=5
IP=18.0

So, ((2X13+0X3-5X10)/18.0)+3.2 = 4.09

The game displays his FIP as 4.26 for that period of time.

anyone?

How would you suggest I apply IBB and HBP into the calc?

Also, a pox upon OOTP for not including HBP in the pitching reports and making me calculate it out 8)

Try counting them as walks. I don't think the normal calculation includes intentional walks or hit-by-pitch, but the OOTP one might.

The complete FIP formula, as used in-game and by tangotiger, uses HBP as BB, and subtracts IBB from that total.

((HR*13 + (BB+HBP-IBB)*3 - K*2) / IP) + 3.2

That seems to do it, thank you!

for claritys sake, and anyone looking for this calculation, here it is, copied from above.

((HR*13 + (BB+HBP-IBB)*3 - K*2) / IP) + 3.2

Thanks again!
