Can't Correct Arbitration Years Setting?

Currently my game is set to:
Minimum days of service for 1 service year: 172
Service Years Required for Arbitration: 2
Super 2 Deadline: Top 22%

I have a hotshot young shortstop who has 1 Yr, 157 days (yes, I called him up in May, as a good GM should) who popped up on my Arb Eligible Players list. He is not marked as a Super 2.

First question: Why is he showing up on the arb list after playing less than two years?

Second question: Why are my two arb settings greyed out? I can't even correct them in Commissioner Mode.

I've been giddy over the prospect of three cheap years from this kid

FWIW: There's also a reliever with 1 Y, 154 days, and a utility guy with 1 Y, 134 days on the arb list.

As always, input is greatly appreciated!

All those guys are almost certainly "super-2" players. In MLB everyone with about 130 or so days into the new service year end up as super-2 guys, which is the top 22% of people who have between 1 and 2 years of service time in your universe (I guess they should really be called "super-1" players...)

As for why you can't change them, due to how we run the calculations, we don't support editing those values in the time between the season end and when free agents file, since that time is arbitration time and it would be very hard to manage a constantly changing environment. Once FA file, you should be able to edit those, if you want to remove super-2 limits.

Calling him up in May will give the extra service year under control, but if you wanted to stay cheap for an extra season that deadline in MLB is sometime in June generally speaking.

Thanks for the info.

I might have an autosave I can roll back to in order to correct the settings.

Aren't the Super 2 guys supposed to have a * to mark them?

They do before the end of the season, but once you hit the arbitration time, then they're either eligible or not.
