files updates - perfect team

do we have to delete files each time we update a simulation .... I think I have done this twice but it keeps popping up the error ....... help here ..... should I just delete game and write down purchase # and try to download ...... this is frustrating and too time consuming to keep deleting ........

This link takes me to another site that wants me register there before posting ???? this is the perfect team bug to report - thread.

I am likely to stop playing until I read something has been done ... Just not that involved in game to continue to waste time deleting files each day ...

Hey Geowar,

Yes the support ticket system we have has an account system so we can keep all your tickets and support help all in one account. Its easier for us and it also lets us know which game you are playing and your os and other information so we can assist you quicker. If that scares you and you don't want to do that I will do my utmost to assist you here on the forums.

Now before we begin on this troubleshooting I can understand completely how having to delete and redownload would be time-consuming and frustrating. So let's see if we can fix your issue.

In regards to your PT saves and deleting them:
Normal users should not have to delete PT saves. The way that it should work from my own experience is that PT creates a folder in your saved_games folder for the league you are in this week. Every time you enter a new league the game will make a new folder for that new league. However, every time you download an update from the server it will overwrite the current league's folder with the new changes.

So to explain that let's assume you're in Gold .289. Every 30 minutes the servers will update and you will download that update. In your saved_games folder there will be 1 folder that is for Gold .289. It will overwrite with the changes from the server every 30 minutes. This keeps your saved_games folder more clean and organized.

Also, these PT folders are 30-50MB so they aren't going to cause you file and hard drive issues. You'll only have one PT folder for each league you have been apart of. Old PT folders you can delete without any issues, i've been doing that every other week or so just to keep my saved_games folder more clean.

So to answer your question no you shouldn't have to delete files each time we simulate. What error message is the game giving you when it prompts you to delete old saves? I'd love to see that if you could include that as an attachment to this thread. If I can see that message that will hopefully allow me and the devs to figure out what's going on.

I also need you to answer just some quick questions so I can make sure I don't send you down a rabbit hole to nowhere.
What OS are you using?
Just to make sure but you have updated your game to the latest version, right? Should now officially be V19.13 Build 132.
Do you have more than one team and is this error happening on all of them or just one?

Do you have more than one team and is this error happening on all of them or just one? one team .... but play on laptop and desktop .... error on both ..... I will try to attach a screen print or jeg.

Thanks for posting the image geowar. Other users reported that error having ties to directory issues where the files are being saved. So the issue is the game not liking wherever the saves are going or the access it normally would need to those files. We could look to move where the game stores data to see if that solves the issue. I'll let a dev take a look and see if they have any other info I'm missing.

I use default settings .... and it happens with Perfect team and not with the regular game ...
