In one of those odd scheduling mishaps, the hot Angels were in Toronto to face the cold Blue Jays, despite it being the 4th of July. Fortunes were reversed as the Jays rode the home run slugging of Dave Winfield and Ryne Sandberg to a 5-4 win! WP - Mike Krukow (2-1) Save - David Wells (18) LP - Rod Nichols (5-3) Record - 45-39 The Jays and Yankees are tied.

A familiar face came back to haunt the Blue Jays as Lee Yandell hit a two run home run in the top of the 9th to tie it up, but Lenny Dykstra doubled home Ryne Sandberg in the bottom of the 9th to give Toronto a walk-off, 7-6 win over the Mariners.
