Pitch Counts

Is there a universal game setting that impacts pitch counts? I play controlling my team but the AI controls everything else. The # of times the AI allows pitch counts into the 120's and 130's seems very high. Even after rain delays etc..

I am playing in the modern (now) era.

Thanks

I'm not super knowledgeable about the game myself, but I've been playing it for 3 months now roughly and haven't found that as an option. You can set individual pitch counts for pitchers though but that's about it.

Thank you.

I do control my team with that tool and attempt to set a reasonable limit. The game would let a pitcher like Tanaka, who has an elbow issue looming throw 130-135. He would never be allowed to do that. I like that tool for my team. My concern is really with the other AI controlled teams. It appears there is no real option to control that so I think I'm better served by ignoring it.

If you have to remember the game doesn't know names only their ratings. My guess is Tanaka has a high stamina rating in the game or a slow hook strategy set in his play strategy.

If they pitch count totals are too high for your taste you can change pitcher stamina under general strategic tendencies in your league settings. It's under STATS & AI.

Sometimes that's a personal pitcher-by-pitcher thing. For example, I had a starter that, as he aged, had a tendency to do one of two things: either get nailed in the first couple innings and settle down or do extremely well through 4-5 and then start giving up the fence. My manager won't listen to quick-hooks, but I tried on his individual strategy, but that kind of ruled out the good games. I settled on a pitch count of 90 and he'd often go 100 and a little change, but at least his HR allowed were reduced to out-of-the-gate situations. He'd eventually retire as one of the league's better starters.

Wouldn't this be impacted by the overall league setting for pitcher stamina ?

Yes. I set my starter stamina setting to .950 for all US leagues.
