Not MOTY?
I took a team in the Suomi-Sarja league in Finland, from dead last with 7 wins to 3rd overall (24-10-2), the playoff finals, AND won promotion.... and I still didn't get Manager of the Year. Not sure what else I could have done.

I won the Stanley Cup 2 years in a row with 65+ win seasons, and one of the lowest payrolls in the league and didn't win it either

I probably should have mentioned, that was with the edmonton oilers, so also taking a team that was pretty much dead last. And it only took 4 years. Made the playoffs every year before winning the cup too. Probably would have won it in year three but the game crashed after I won the western conference final and upon reloading, my top d-man and 2nd line centre got injured so I wasn't able to get back to the final that year. On top of that, I was primed to win again this year (for three in a row) but my save has become corrupted so that career is over

If anybody else runs into this, it'd be useful to know how the actual manager of the year did, in addition to your own stats - makes it a little easier for us to see if something's being calculated wrong or if there was just another very good candidate.
