"Rookie of the Year" award in 1st season of fictional league
Is everyone considered a "rookie" in the 1st year of a fictional league?
Or is it still based on the player's "majors service" days? I don't want a 38 year old with 15 years of "majors service" to win the award, for example. |

Their eligibility is based on their major league service number.

That's what I figured but the PBP box was calling some veterans "rookies" so I just wanted to make sure.

"Rookie of the Year" award in 1st season of fictional league
Quote:
I would turn off ROY in the 1st year of the fictional league. Turn it on the 2nd year.

For a fictional league players are populated with fictional service time based on their age. Only players whose fictional service time falls under the requirements for Rookie of the Year eligibility can win the award in the league's first year.
So don't worry about your league MVP winning the RotY award also because he's new to the league (as is everyone else). Unless he's actually a rookie, then he should win both...
