Lightbulb Quick iOOTP 2015 suggestions thread!

So, let's collect your suggestions in a single thread! Quick and dirty... what would you like to see?

Let me mention some things first:
1) Minor league stats -> For this we'd need to properly simulate the minors, and this eats a lot of system resources. I am not sure if 2015 will be the year we'll introduce it, but some day (once all supported devices have enough memory) we'll have full minor league rosters.
2) Android version -> We wanted to do this already, but unfortunately we haven't had the resources / time available yet. It is however high on our priority list and will see the light of day some day. Hopefully iOOTP 2015.
3) The basic interface will remain the same.. let us know how we can tweak it for better usability though, please

Alright, let us know!

Cheers,
Markus

#1: Confirmation of the player being replaced when pinchhitting or pinchrunning. Essential!
#2: When choosing a reliever or bringing in a pinch hitter or pinch runner during a game, there is no way to see any details about them (e.g. in the Batting Ratings or Pitching Ratings or Defensive Ratings windows) without actually committing to have them enter the game.
#3: When running automatically to the 6th or 8th inning, if your team pinch hit for the pitcher, you have to bring in a new pitcher without being able to tell what the game situation is. You don't know if you're in a tight game, up by 5, or down by 8.
#4: In the Amateur Draft, it would be good if you could get a recommendation from your scouting staff without having to actually draft that player.
#5: Shop Player Around, when trading.
#6: Beyond that, the logistics of trading are horrible. Please revamp the trading system by trying to think about how EASY you can make it for us to go from "hey, I'd like to make a trade" to "trade completed" (e.g. minimize number of clicks/taps, reduce how much the user needs to remember between screens, make On The Block more useful, etc.). And make sure that it is so. Then tell us that it's new and improved.
#7: When either in the Active Roster or the Minor League Roster, if you filter the output using the dropdown box (e.g. only Second Base) and then you view the info for a specific player, the filter is cleared to show all players. I never want this to happen.
#8: If a player is cold and you send them down to the minors for a month, it would be nice to have an update on their situation in the News and actually have it be real.

- Shop player in trades
- Human teams get offers from AI teams for players on the block
- More customizable league setup (teams/divisions only)
- Go back when creating a league
- 2 Bench spots in the depth chart
- optional storylines
- add up to 5 players on each side in a trade

And some history things which may or may not be possible:
- track playoff stats
- only delete those who never reached the majors. Tired of scrolling through past champions to see that every retired player (except HOF) has been deleted.
- Only if the first is possible, but career leaderboards in every stat, and news when a player breaks a record

Bugs:
- Player history screen doesn't scroll all the way down

that's as quick and dirty as I can get it.

I would like to see league expansion so like if im playing in a history league and i start in 1901 i would like to by 2004 have a world series and 30 teams implemented already

Create a player would be pretty cool if you could implement that

***HERES A BIG ONE
If you choose a team you would like to be with i think to make it more realistic you should have to start in the Double AA or triple AAA and if your a terrible manager like Bo Porter you could get fired by the owner of the game. I just think i would love to have it but of course there is a thing to turn it off so you dont get fired

Those are a few additions i would love to have and i mean everyone else said there requests and i like them for example... Shop a player.. But if i have more i will post!!

1. I think the All-Star games should take into account a players popularity, we have popularity in the game, we should use it. Now when guys make the HOF they hopefully wont be making it despite having never played in an All Star Game.

2. It really irritates me that as you get deeper and deeper into careers you start to see bullpens made up of primarily former Starting pitchers. Yes sometimes starters become relievers, but not to the point where most relievers in the league are just former starters.

3. Along the same lines, we need to have players (usually real MLBers) play well into their 40's. Mike Trout is amazing, but he's not going to play until hes 44.

4. We need more changes in Closers. Closer is the most volatile position in baseball, there is a ton of turnover every year. There are too many players racking up 400, 500, 600 career saves.

1. League Editor: things like expansion, #of games, divisions etc.
2. Shop Player Feature (like OOTP)
3. Suggestion from scout during amateur draft
4. More stock put into All-Star games when qualifying for HOF
5. Minor League Stats (when possible)

I realize not all can be done for iOOTP 15 but I just listed 5 things that came to my mind. iOOTP is such a great game its hard to think of anything to try and improve it

Long time player, first time poster. Here are a few things I'd like to see in the next version:

- I wish player personalities showed themselves through signing players. Greedy players would sign with any team that offered a lot of money, older players would take a little less to play on a playoff team, etc.

- When offering a contract in the promised role you could put Backup, Utility Infielder, RH/LH Platoon, Bullpen. I'll sign a vertan to a small contract and they keep emailing me about starting them. This kind of plays to the 1st point, a free agent could be considering 2 similar contracts but one is for a starting spot and one is for a backup, they'd probably take the starting role.

- A way to track a teams 'Reputation', which would include if you keep promised roles, if fans show up, if your winning games, and your player's morale. Would affect how free agents perceive your club.

- A way to track free agents without submitting them a contract. Sometimes I see guys i'd be interested in sign for peanuts and i would have offered them a better contract if i knew. Maybe the option to mark the guy as 'Interested' and if they don't get an amazing offer they send you an email alert that says they'll sign for more money, an extra year or a starting job

- Financials seemed a little off, I know you can adjust the money amount in the settings but sometimes I'll see a 30 year old backup free agent sign a 6 year/3 million dollar contract and i don't think that would happen in real life. I think guys should be more willing to settle for a large one or two year deal then a long cheap deal

- When I sim games i notice that Lefty Specialists hardly get used by the computer, even when their secondary role is middle reliever or long relief

- Also would like to see Righty Specialist be one of the 2nd options when setting up your bullpen with a right hander, as it is now you have to set it as your primary role. Like I said before guys don't usually get a lot of innings set up primarily as a specialist.

- When you 'Shop Player Around' it would be nice if you could set the kind of trade you would want to make, example: 'For Prospects' or 'For Major Leaguers'

- Ability to set up an email alert when someone interesting gets DFA (maybe a guy with more then 2 stars or a certain overall rating)

- Set aside international spending in your budget! Kind of like how the AI sets aside a certain amount for the amateur draft. I usually run small market teams and i hate not having enough money left over to spend on these guys even though i'm making tons of money in revenue.

- When you get an email involving a trade or a player it would be nice to see all the players involved and their basic ratings and stats right in the email. I play on 1080p and there's a ton of white space at the bottom of every email, would be nice to throw in more info on the players involved

- A feature I would LOVE to see is a way to compare the production your getting at every position compared to the rest of the league. If your using a platoon it can be hard to get a handle on how well it's doing and it would help at the trade deadline knowing you have a great team but your 15th in OPS at a certain position. Would also show all the players that have played that position and the numbers they've put up

- This might be a little 'game breaking' but it would be neat to see projected stats based on player ratings, and you could adjust the plate appearances as a starter or as a platoon batter. Sometimes it's tough to figure out how guys with different skill sets compare to each other.

- Is there a way for an owner to sell a team or step down? Just seems kind of depressing hoping a penny pincher owner dies.

- This might be a little pie-in-the-sky but since I usually manage MLB teams it would be nice to have a screen for your top 15 or 20 prospects and options for where you want them to bat or what postion you want them to play. I have the computer manage the minor leagues but it would be cool to be able to set up your top prospects. Maybe a way to say what they need to work on to make it to the big league club, like work on control or improve their eye. Then when they develop they're more like to improve in those areas. I had a top prospect with a live arm but there's no way i'm promoting him when he has a 1 at current control.

Sorry i just realized this wasn't very quick and dirty

- Player shortlist. If new one thing gets in the game next year, this should be it.

A list of FA to be during the regular season. That way one can plan ahead,Contracts that includes options years
Better draft system. All the talent are pretty much in the first 10 picks.
It would be nice to be alerted when a division rival makes a big move, trade, etc..
More success = increased budget. Decreased budget if terrible.

1) Really doubt this will get into the game, but scouting for the upcoming draft. If you've ever played any of the NHL Series by EA, you have to send your scout out to different regions to uncover players for the draft starting about a year before the draft happens. I believe this was also in past versions of The Show (not sure if still is.) I doubt it gets in, but I'd love to see it. This was add another development to the draft rather than just every player being uncovered 1 month before the draft starts.

2) IN Game: Bullpen useage, You should have to warm players up in the bullpen before they pitch rather than just putting them in. Small, yet important element to the game if added in.

Two things... one enhancement and one bug.

Enhancement: I really like the Positional Strength Overview but it is not very useful for pitchers. Please set it so it tells you the relative strength of your rotation and your bullpen, and not just your best starter and best reliever.

BUG: If a player gets injured, you should not have to replace them until it is necessary. The most common example is a player getting hurt while making an out as a batter/runner or a fielder getting hurt during the third out.

The BIGGEST problem is when a pitcher gets hurt as the third out is made and you are forced to replace them immediately.

A feature that would be nice to add and would definitely make iOOTP15 different from iOOTP14 is the ability to change strategy while playing a game. There are times when you definitely want your baserunners to be more aggressive or more careful and you have no way of influencing it. The "Strategy" screen should be accessible within the playing of a game (although any changes should be discarded once the game ends).

Quick iOOTP 2015 suggestions thread!

1. Career Leaderboards (would be awesome for fictional leagues). Been wanting this since the game came out.

2. News notifications about when a player has a great hitting streak going

3.League expansion on expansion years like OOTP

4. Get Fired.

5. Ability to add Logos via file sharing. (So many good mods out there that could be utilized in the game). This is something football manager does very well.

6. While not high on my list but could be a great addition: player pictures

7. Along with the seasons offered maybe a QuickStart option like is available in OOTP.

8. In game sound like at the ballpark

1. Just wanted to reiterate the ideas of career leaderboards, league expansion, and also enhancing the 'past champions' screen and the budget system (I've won 6 championships in a row with a small market team and my budget is still small). Those are really important.

2. I would really like to have access to the entire top 100 prospects list instead of just the top 10, and maybe even throw in league rankings of each teams' minor league systems like in OOTP.

3. Leading up to the draft I would like to be able to review the draft pool as a whole like you can in OOTP, so I can be able to devise a draft strategy based on what positions have more depth.

4. A huge improvement that seems like it wouldn't be too hard to put in would be the ability to withdraw free agent offers. Too many times I've realized that I have multiple offers out to players of the same position. I usually just trade the worse option away but it would be better to just withdraw the offer.

5. When a player is eligible to come off of the DL it sends me to the DL screen. This is a problem because usually I have to send down the guy I previously called up to replace him before I can activate him because you can't activate a guy when your roster already has 25 players.

6. This has probably already been said, but a league editor would be nice. Things like changing the dates of the trade deadline and draft would be nice, on top of adding/subtracting teams.

7. Pretty small, but I wish that stadium names would automatically change after randomizing team names when starting up a league. If my league is made of teams whose names I manually randomized, their stadium names still reflect their original team name pre-randomization.

As I've been playing more and more, I have concluded that I would really like the ability to see more details about a player before bringing them in to pinchhit, pinchrun, or relieve. This came to a head in a game last night when I brought in a reliever based on the information that I had: ERA, walk ratio, and strikeout ratio. He gave up the winning hit. Afterwards (outside of the game), I noticed that his low-3's ERA hid a .300+ opposing batting average. Argh!

I can see two ways that this might be solved:
1) allow us complete control over viewing ratings and stats (and, while we're at it, tiredness) like we do outside of playing a game, or
2) when asking us if we want to bring them in, have another option button for "no, I just want to see their profile"
