Guys, you can now edit the state of a city (and more) in the "Explore World" screen In-game, instead of in XML files.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

Amazingly, 1944 was actually before my time!

Thanks very much for making these changes. I am now able to create my league as desired.

I would like to point out though - Cape Breton is NOT a city. I tried deleting it out using the in game editor but that's not possible. Maybe in the next patch?

Tks again.

i would also like to be able to delete things. but at least you can rename that city to a place nearby that actually exists. same is not true for extra "States"

Bump - Markus/Andreas - I've been editing the file in game, adding a lot of cities that were missing.

Will any further patches affect those changes I made? In other words, should I make a backup copy of the World.Xml before installing the patch?

Or will my changes remain intact?

It's always a good idea to make back-ups regardless. I've learnt that mistake the hard way.

Whenever you edit something - make backups!
Yes, an update would overwrite the world XML file.

Can you add states that aren't already in the file?

Click on "Add State" in the nations editor.

Is there any way to save this outside the individual game you edit it in? It doesn't seem to change the actual World_default.xml file....

Good point, why not put the editor that is in-game as a tool that can be accessed from the main menu to edit the actual file?

Just realised that changes do not get saved to the World.XML. What a bummer. I spent several hours researching info so I could add cities only to find out that my work applies to the current league only. What a waste of time and effort. Totally disappointed that changes don't stick.

i duno. i would think that if that was true, my world would still not be corrupt. i assume you mean the default world, and not the one in the saved game.
