Free Agents and Player market value

I'd love to see as a GM giving a player a huge long term contract and have the other GMs upset with you for doing this because it changes the market and they have to start paying there players more. We see this too during Free agencey which is why if a certain type of player becomes a free agent at the right time he can hit the jackpot.

Once the players salarys went public the comparisons begin. 'This guys getting 7 million and i get more points so i should be getting more for longer term'

I'd more than happy changing these numbers manually like i do in ootp but i'd love to see contract decisons having market consequences league wide dynamically one day. That's a huge part of being a GM in the NHL.

I believe there should be something along the lines of "GM Personality". Not only can altering the player market have an affect on your reputation, but so would offer sheets, team rivalries and how successful you are.

Having a bad reputation would affect how easily you can pull off trades, sign coaches and how other GM's would treat your RFAs...

That would be a nice feature. Still i'd like to see contracts "changing the hockey world" like we see in todays nhl...or at least give the user the ability to do it manual for starters...

Just think if player contracts were released to the public in the late 50s or 60s...how much different would it be? Id like to use this game to see

Or simply as we saw this free agency with Vancouver trading Ehroff and signing him to a ridiculous deal and we saw how that effected the market (Wisnewski struck gold because of it)

All the GMs have a national and international reputation value. The reputation will be affected (among other things) by all negotiations (e.g. contract, trades).

We will not use static player values in the game. The player values will change depending on the market situation. That doesn't mean a single totally overpriced contract will be the new benchmark, although the contract will affect the market.
