The Colt .45s conclude their seven game road trip with a four game series in San Francisco against the Giants. The Colt .45s are 0-3 so far on this road trip and have lost five straight. The Giants have won four of their last five. The Giants lead the season series 2-1.

The Colt .45s activated SP Bob Bruce from the disabled list.

In the bottom of the second, the Giants loaded the bases with nobody out. Haller hit a sacrifice fly to put the Giants on the board.

After three: San Francisco 1 Houston 0.

Cepeda led off the bottom of the fourth with a 375 foot shot to left.

In the top of the fifth, Buddin put the Colt .45s on the board with an RBI double. Spangler was up next and he tied the game with an RBI single. Mejias then hit a three-run homer to put the Colt .45s in the lead.

After six: Houston 5 San Francisco 2.

In the bottom of the seventh, Mays hit a two-run homer to make it a one run game.

Davenport led off the top of the eighth with a 419 foot drive to right-center to tie the game. Jim Umbricht immediately replaced Johnson on the mound for the Colt .45s. Pinch hitter Harvey Kuenn hit an RBI double to put the Giants back in the lead.

Stu Miller took the mound for the Giants in the top of the ninth and set the Colt .45s down in order to end the game and second Marichal to an 8-0 record on the season.

Final score: San Francisco 6 Houston 5.

In the top of the fourteenth, the Mets loaded the bases with nobody out. Hickman singled to put the Mets up by one. Mantilla followed with his own RBI single. Chacon grounded into the 4-2 fielder's choice for the first out. Pinch hitter Don Zimmer hit a sacrifice fly to center. Bouchee followed with an RBI single. The Mets batted around the order in the inning.

Ray Daviault took the mound for the Mets in the bottom of the fourteenth. And he finished off the Colt .45s.

In the top of the first, the Colt .45s cashed in a leadoff triple by Amalfitano with an RBI single from Buddin. Buddin went on to score as well, crossing the plate when Larker grounded into a 4-6 fielder's choice. Ranew added his own RBI single as did Taussig as the Colt .45s batted around the order in the first inning.

Pinson led off the bottom of the first with a home run. Lynch added a two run double to make it a one run game.

In the top of the third, Ranew beat out the 6-4-3 to allow Mejias to score from third.

In the bottom of the third, Spangler threw Robinson out at home as he was trying to score from second on a Lynch single.

After three: Houston 5 Cincinnati 3.

In the top of the sixth, the Colt .45s loaded the bases with two out. Mejias flew out to center to retire the side.

Johnny Klippstien took the mound for the Reds in the top of the seventh.

In the top of the first, a sacrifice fly by Spangler brought Amalfitano home with the game's first run.

In the top of the second, Smith added a run-scoring double. Taussig brought one home with a single. Another run scored on a single by Amalfitano. Taussig went on to score on a Buddin sacrifice fly. The Colt .45s loaded the bases with two out. Larker, batting for the second time in the inning, grounded to second to retire the side.

In the bottom of the second, the Cubs loaded the bases with nobody out. Will put the Cubs on the board with an RBI single. Curtis went down on strikes for the first out. White addedan RBI single. Rodgers drew a walk to force in another run. A sacrifice fly from Altman made it a one run game as the Cubs batted around the order in the inning.

In the bottom of the third, Gabrielson tied the game with an RBI double.

After three: Houston 5 Chicago 5.

In the bottom of the fourth, Buddin was unable to handle a Banks grounder and Altman scored from third to give the Cubs the lead.

In the bottom of the fifth, the Cubs loaded the bases with two out. George Brunet took the mound for the Colt .45s. Rodgers hit a two run single. Altman followed with an RBI single.

After six: Chicago 9 Houston 5.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Cubs made it ten unanswered runs when Bertell hit an RBI single. Hubbs singled to load the bases with two out. Gabrielson singled to score one but Spangler threw Bertell out at home as he was trying to score from second.

Dave Giusti took the mound for the Colt .45s in the bottom of the eighth. Altman got another RBI single.

The two teams combined for 33 hits in the contest with the Cubs getting 21 of them.

Final score: Chicago 12 Houston 5.

In the top of the seventh, Mejias sent an 0-2 pitch 386 feet to left center for a solo home run. Larker followed with a double and then Aspromonte jacked one 411 feet to left center for a two run blast.

Jim Umbricht took the mound for the Colt .45s in the bottom of the eighth.

Jim Brewer took the mound for the Cubs in the top of the ninth. Larker scored from third when Ranew grounded to second. Taussig brought Aspromonte home with a sacrifice fly.

The Colt .45s began the game with back-to-back doubles from Amalfitano and Buddin to get on the board first. Aspromonte added an RBI single.

In the bottom of the first, Stuart tied the game with a two run homer. One out later, Groat gave the Pirates the lead with a two run homer of his own.

In the top of the second, Amalfitano hit an RBI triple. Amalfitano went on to score the tying run when Buddin grounded out to short.

In the bottom of the third, Groat gave the Pirates the lead back with an RBI single.

After three: Pittsburgh 5 Houston 4.

In the top of the fifth, Mejias tied the game with an RBI single.

In the bottom of the fifth, an RBI double by Hoak put the Pirates in the lead once again.

In the bottom of the sixth, Skinner hit a solo home run.

Diomedes Olivo took the mound for the Pirates in the top of the seventh.

In the bottom of the seventh, Clemente scored from first on a Burgess single combined with a Mejias throwing error. Spangler then threw Burgess out at home as he tried to score from second on a Groat single. With two out, Goss hit a three run homer. Harvey Haddix took the mound for the Pirates in the bottom of the seventh. Larker scored from third when Schofield misplayed a Taussig grounder. Amalfitano added an RBI single. Buddin followed with his own RBI single.
