"Basic online league support"
Can someone explain what this means, exactly? We're considering using FHM2 for our SSG Universe, but I wanted to see what "basic" meant in regards to online league support.
Thanks!

It basically means there aren't a lot of bells and whistles. Don't expect it be an exact reincarnation of OOTP 16's online mode (at least not right away). I forget exactly what the comparison was, but I believe it was suggested it would operate similarly to how online did in some of the earlier versions of OOTP.
But it still does everything you would expect of an online league... Owners download the league file, make changes to their team, upload their file within game, the commish runs the sim, rinse and repeat. I don't know what your SSSG universe is or the parameters of it, but FHM 2 will work to host an online hockey league. |

Thanks, Cole. We do use OOTP 16 for our baseball league, but how will FM2 then be different? What would be missing? We won't be scared off, haha, I'm just trying to anticipate.
We'd just be doing the NHL teams.

There's not the same level of robust report creation, although there is CSV report creation. There aren't the same options regarding tailoring specific lineups for specifics games, etc. like in FHM 2. You have to download the league file from outside the game (Although you can export your file from within the game). This being said, I know this is an area they want to expand on post release, so with any luck we'll see some of these things added in future patches and/or future versions. |

Thanks! None of those are big issues. We also sim one day at a time, real time, so I don't think even the lineups will be that big of a deal.

Yes you should have no issue.
Essentially we just wanted to temper expectations a bit so we didn't have everyone complaining that they can't do X, Y, or Z that is available in OOTP 16. The idea is to start simply and get something stable and then build from there. |
