Call for Jersey Modders

Hi all,

As you know we're working towards release now.

As you may also know, FHM 2 will feature Facegen and customizable jerseys (similar to OOTP - although not precisely the same, for obvious reasons).

We know the OOTPD modding community will come out in full force once the game is released, but we're also hoping to have something there for fans to easily be able to download and use as soon as the game drops.

So, we're looking for someone with modding talent who might want to come on board with us to create some jerseys.

Obviously this is someone preferably with graphics/modding experience, but we are open to anyone who might want to help.

We are interested in both real-life and fictional jersey work, so whoever might be interested and have some time to help out, please send me a PM (with some links to some of your work if possible) and we'll take it from there and get you access to the information and files you will need to get started.

Thanks,
Cole

I was just wondering about this as I read today's newsletter item about how this version "will bring Facegen technology to the series, greatly enhancing immersion by generating individual portraits for every player and staff member."

A major enhancement for hockey non-aficionados like me. The game will grow on me but I could use this much eye-candy to tide me over . . .

Heh, I just had a flashback to OOTPB discussions years ago in which I advocated NOT indulging in too much "eye-candy" to the detriment of the game simulation itself. Many a forum member reminded me that it was important to attract new blood to the game . . .

The shoe's on the other foot in this forum, as far as I am concerned.

As a guy who mostly enjoys fictional play, Facegen is huge for me... Having seen what some of our modders can do with the jersey templates I must say, it's quite pretty!

Good. This means, of course, that the game will at least make generic unis in the meantime, correct? [Hmmm. Dumb question. What do I expect otherwise, nude players? ]

Yup, similar to OOTP in that respect. Basic jerseys with RGB colors.

Interesting to note.. I am rightly upset about how we were treated that bought FHM version 1. Thats clear as day in another thread.

Note I have been playing your baseball games for years, and have been doing graphics professionally including PC gaming for over 17 years,.

If there is a base template I can show you what I can do

I would imagine that this will entail a somewhat different look than the templates used for OOTPB. Hockey helmet, for one thing, and the shoulders are going to need to be bulked up a bit to suggest pads.

I wouldn't mind giving it a look-see and play around a little bit. I'm not sure how much time I can commit to it, but I would like to get my hands on the templates to see what can be done

I'd be willing to help if I could get some GIMP-friendly templates...base layer with no texture that I can just bucket fill, stripe layers same, and one or more texture-only layers. Otherwise, probably not, since quick n' dirty is the only way I know, until Justafan or somebody makes a Hockey Jersey Maker.
