More realistic trades

In my game I am seeing a lot of bad trades, things like Paul Goldshmidt for Matt Harvey or Brandon Guyer for Mike Leake or Juan Lagares for Justin Wilson or Miguel Montero for Ricky Nolasco. Every trade is veteran for veteran. Is there a way to fix that? right now i have the ai set to neutral, should i change it to favor veterans or prospects instead? I love the game and know the AI can't be perfect but it really stinks seeing these ridiculous deals

It's possible there aren't enough teams that are in "Rebuilding" mode in the roster set game, and if most teams think they're competitive, they'll usually be looking to improve their roster (by trading from strength to address weakness).

What's ridiculous about those trades? They're all for pretty equal players on both sides of the deal, no?

If there are a lot of vet for vet deals, that's something to be worked on, but the specific vet for vet deals you mention all seem pretty fair to both sides and hardly ridiculous.

Cleveland traded Edwin Encarnacion to the A's in my game before he even played a game for the Indians. I thought that was a bit weird.

We don't have a field to designate that a player in the roster set was just signed, so the ai has no idea about that. One guy is the same as another to it. Maybe something to improve in future versions.

Yeah I assumed something like that was the case.

I have noticed it in previous versions as well. To be honest for me it makes the game more interesting to see sometimes bizarre looking trades. Maybe the A's will now have a shot at actually winning something.

Looking at like that you are right, I guess it's more ridiculous the caliber of player being traded but you can't exactly program in things like a players meaning to the franchise (in the case of Goldy). But thank you for the response. In previous years i was able to get some realistic trades by using the commish mode to manually add players to the trading block for teams that were way out of contention but this year that fix doesn't quite work as well. Even with this problem its still the best bseball game I've ever played so I hope i didn't come off as a whiner
