I really hope no one has bought any of the CWS collection diamonds that have been reposted for 100,000 every 48 hours for weeks.

If I spent 100K on a card...I would have had to open up the ole wallet to the point that the wife would have put me in the ground right next to some of said White Sox...she didn't threaten, I just know this.

I'm not against spending money on a card. When my wife and I used to go out for drinks and dinner for the night ( not as often anymore) it would be $100 or more. That buys you 175k points in this game and you have something to show for it for a couple of years. My issue is with paying top dollar for garbage performance. This IS a baseball game, is it not?

Here's a good one - is this a prime collection card or something?

I am so sick of that a-hole. I really wish there was a message function (like on eBay) so that I could tell them to knock it off, nobody's EVER going to buy your cards at those lousy prices, quit clogging up the auction house with your BS.

I doubt they're on the boards, but if they are...

KNOCK IT OFF!!!

Must be a game within a game for someone. Hoping someone is hammered enough to bite? I'll never understand it but people have fun with different aspects of the game. The stuff on the field is what does it for me.

Ever consider the possibility that he’s funneling points?

It should be!

"Not the Best Card of All-Time Greats that Nobody Wants to Ever Play With" is a bit of a clunky title though. I am open for suggestions!

Doubtful, since the auctions never seem to be successful.

Just a speculator on the lookout for some rube. Only you would have thought the message would have been received by now.

Thing is, if the cards were posted for half of what they are, the speculator would probably have some success and still walk away with a handsome profit...

Maybe if enough of us keep complaining, they'll change the way the Auction House functions. Maybe we can get a limit to how far above or below the Last 7 or All Time averages, similar to how we now have a max auction of 48 hours. In both cases, parameters being set by the user is leading to Auction House stagnation.

Obviously a free market isn't fixing this, so maybe its time for some intervention by the appropriate governing body.

Disagree with that. Collections on Monday will surely shake up the market and some cards will be worth a lot more than they were on Sunday.

The free market is still the best way to solve this. Just don't buy anything overvalued.

Sure, make them follow up one terrible move with another even more terrible move. Keep doing that until the game actually sucks. Everybody will be thankful forever...

I don't like any pricing restrictions. But, I do think the auction time limit change was a good move. Make those clogging the AH with 7-day auctions that nobody will ever buy disappear sooner.

Two changes to get rid of the persistent AH problem: 1-reveal identity of seller with listing, and 2-allow an ignore/block list on the AH. Both together are required, as neither work separately.

I doubt we'll see something like this implemented in the nearest future, as I imagine it to be a coding nightmare, and I'm sure the Team has bigger fish to fry...but it would work.

I don't know Ty. I'm torn on revealing people on auctions. I'm not a huge fan of limiting prices either.

I have a stalker here who thinks I like to call people out but in reality I'm insulted by some of these prices. Do they think we're all morons? THAT is what drove the thread. Not so much to control people but to point out the insult to our collective intelligence.

I am not sure why we are trying to control how others want to use the AH. People can post any price they want(with their own time), other people can think they are stupid or whatever. That's life in an essence. Us playing an online baseball game and being so serious and even investing money into it is stupid in some others' eyes too, big whoop.

If the problem is the AH is hard to navigate with all the "garbage" posting, I would argue that part of the problem is the AH UI, which certainly can be improved.
