Mike Piazza coming in with the lowest ERA for the C.D. Suns. That looks like a joke of sorts. This WAITTILNEXTYEAR guy can start 40 Josh Fogg & have him beat Cy Young. But in this case, he's in on the joke, pitching worse than Piazza. ???

This thread is dyyying
Well, Vida Blue threw a 2-hitter in the last game before the All-Star Break today for the Flyers. Mike Trout & Ryne Sandberg singled.

Someone stacking their lineup while also tanking their pitching.

Must be why they named an award for him
We're coming to that point in Perfect Team where if you've had a player on your team rather regularly, he's probably amassed some ginormous numbers.
I was curious today about Koufax's record in his time with the Flyers...He has started 1066 games & has a record of 495-308. A darn successful pitcher for a darn successful team my most standards... Cy Young in his 22 seasons started 815 games & has a record of 511-315. So at first 315 sounded like a lot to me? (300 wins being the gold standard for winning pitchers besides Cy, basically)...but the Flyers' Koufax would have to go 16-7 or better to match this quantity & quality of W-L. Very well could go either way!

Interesting idea. Joe has been with me since 2021, he has now surpassed 1000 ZR.

Woke up to find 12 packs in my possession. I won all three 32 bronze team tourneys I had signed up for before bed. Never ever won two straight. To win three straight I was pleasantly surprised.
I was more pleasantly surprised however when perfect Hank Aaron jumped out to greet himself to my team. Will be selling him as he doesn't fit my team very well with being a defense liability. Also pulled Diamond 94 Victor Cruz out of those packs to and a live gold. |

Seaver denied Perfection...
He retired the first 26 hitters. He allowed 0 hits. He allowed 0 walks, had 9 strikeouts. But he ended up facing 28 batters as the 27th batter of the game (Eddie Collins) hit a ground ball to 1st that John Olerud flubbed. He retired the next batter on a fly ball to right field. That was his final line...what would have been the 27th out in a row reaching on an error on a ground ball to the first baseman with the 28th man he faced flying out to right field. 9 IP, 0 H, 0 BB, 0 ER. 1 error. No perfect game. No-hitter.
Tom Seaver had a few curious 1-hitters with the Mets in real-life before throwing one with the Reds and/or White Sox later in his career, at least 2 of them were broken up in the 9th inning as well, but none this dramatic I don't think anyway...I know one involved a 9th inning bunt...a little different in that no-hitters were broken up, not perfect games.

Real Cy Young: 511-315 Virtual Sandy Koufax: 510-316 The only other guy on my team nearing that number of decisions has been on the Flyers since 2026. A frozen in 1984 Dwight Gooden card...His record with the club is 470-281. He'll have to go 41-34 or better in 75 future decisions to get his 511th win before his 315th loss with us. His career record is at 488-287. He'll have to go 23-27 or better in 50 future decisions to win 511 games without dropping 315. This is practically the way they talked about him at the time. He didn't ended up losing many in reality, but didn't even quite get to 200 wins. (Career 194-112)...somehow his real-life problems did keep his Major League loss total to just 112. I know lots of people like to crack jokes about his real life struggles but I think he was the first pitcher I watched pitch...I was always impressed with his ability but I thought that was a natural talent he had; his delivery...I was watching an interview with him the other day though and he said it went like this: His dad was watching him play ball & asked him 2 questions: 1. Do you like baseball? & 2. Would you want to take it seriously? ...His answers were yes & yes and his dad went on teaching him mechanically how to be a pitcher, how to pitch. Showed him where different body parts needed to be during different parts of the delivery and more. Then he got to work with Mel Stottlemyre as well.

An unnamed team in P407 has a pitching staff that includes Urban Shocker who, as of 14 May 2068, already has 16 losses (in 17 starts).
It will be fun for me to see how many losses he accrues. It will be even more fun if I have more series against him like the one from May 3-5 where I outscored them by scores of 21-4, 48-0, and 29-2. My point balance increased from 13188 to 43933 thanks to the 57 achievements.

My Johan Santana has 600 appearances as both a reliever and a starter, 300 career W & 100 career Saves never having acted as a primary closer.
I don't have a screenshot right now. Take my word. Just an oddity I noticed. I thought "He's got a variety of things done...and I'm not exactly sure how to use him."

As of 2 July, he has 46 losses in 59 games (56 starts). This is 61.3% of his team's total losses (75). None of the other 9 pitchers on the roster have more than 8 losses or 4 starts. This is a wild statistical ride that I am enjoying way too much.

Shocker-Watch 2020!
Urban Shocker led P407 in both losses (56) and starts (69) despite not pitching after 17 July when he was moved to the reserve roster with the other irons, presumably in response to threatened actions against tanking. I kind of wish they had tanked the full season. I would have loved to have seen how many losses he could accrue. For what its worth, the team in question finished 28-134, which was an amusing 23 games higher than their pythagorean record (5-157). The other 3 teams that relegated finished 68-94, 69-93, and 71-91. They also had a Run Differential of -2665, with the next lowest being -135 by a team that went 78-84. In the 6 games I played this Shocker led team, I gained 69,945 points.
