It's all about the schedule. I had a brutal May (10-19), facing the top teams in the conference and going 0-12 against them. The tide has turned in June with a more favorable schedule leading to a 8-1 streak. I am now back to .500 and a positive run differential, so I hope to get back into the wild card race (only 4 games back of the second spot).
I helped to jumpstart the recovery by spending my points bank on perfect Curt Schilling. So far, he hasn't disappointed, going 3-0 with a 0.90 ERA in four starts. Christian Yelich, playing LF for me, is the leading vote getter in the all-star balloting. His slash line is .340/.426/.568 with 12 HR, 35 RBI in 56 games. |

The Raccoons sold that Dylan Cease card - I sorta have my rotation booked currently - for 10k (9k after tax) and can now blow nearly 12k on something stupid.
Maybe I should buy some packs…...

No stats, but I don't mind the stats.
Well, he has stats now. 0-for-5.

Also funny: the Coons' rotation has Walter Johnson, Jacob deGrom, Tom Seaver (97), and Patrick Corbin... and their ERA leader is… Craig Swan (85)!

The Frogs continue to hover in striking range of the 2nd wild card in P411. In fact, the team currently holds a 0.5 game lead in that regard.
The team is going thru a stretch of 17 straight games without a day off, and playing a bunch of strong teams in the process. The stretch kicked off by surprisingly taking 2/3 against the Winterfell Direwolves--a loaded team with the current best overall league record. The Frogs are currently locking horns with the Evergreen Forest Raccoons, and this team is a division leader in its own right with the 3rd best record in the league. These same teams will meet up again for a 4-game set just a few days after the current 3-game set concludes. The Frogs also go on the road to face Cuyahoga Falls--this team looks to be some of the primary competition for wild card spot #2. If that wasn't enough, the Frogs conclude their 17 games in 17 days with a 3-game set against the Oregon Ducks. The Ducks are 31-39 now but led the division for most of yesterday. The Frogs just hope to survive the June/July period and make it to August where the schedule softens up a little bit.

Strangely, 8 playoff trips but no championships. He must have had a lot of bad luck or just recently picked up all the legends. It probably requires similar top pitching and great defense to grab wins at your home ballpark.

I finally came to the conclusion that my PT20 team does not meet the Base Stealing and Running theme that I was so fond of in PT19.
Sadly, I don't have Cobb/Dahl/Collins/Ozzie or any of the other top speedsters in the game. So the team will change its name and become the Washington Explorers. Logo is based on one of our favorite spots in Washington state (San Juan Islands). The kids and I also decided to jump into the "Our League" group with two F2P teams. A defensive minded team and a team that will take it a little slower and look for opportunities to improve here and there before locking down a theme and strategy: (logos were a fun family project with the kids...Paint.net 101 class with dad). Orcin, do you have a F2P team? I may have missed the name in the long discussion history.

Rebels languish a bit under .500 in bronze. Jimmy Key won the Pitcher of the Month, though, with a 4-0, 2.13 ERA performance that got him allllll the way to 8-8, 5.68 ERA for the season.
That is the sort of circumstances in which this team exists. Have empathy, please. Coons? Lead their diamond division by 2 1/2 over the Toronto Falcons. And a similar story here, too. Big Walt was Pitcher of the Month in July, going 4-1 with a 0.66 ERA. He is now 10-8 for the year with a 3.41 ERA. 3.41! Normally you'll have to add two of his season ERAs together to get to 3.41! Here's another example that live cards are more or less quicksale value, but you can get everything in the world for historical cards: sold a Fernando Valenzuela Hardware Hero card for 11k, about twice the recent price, via buy-now. I feel like rippin' some packs? Edit: rather bought 1996 Ken Caminiti for 8k, and turned the rest into packs that at least gave me a Corey Knebel card. Could have done worse.

Doha (76-29) are quietly having another outstanding season. The division is all but secured and we are stll fighting for the conference's best record.
With no super team in the league anything can happen going forward. Great Lake (68-38) was a bit average to start the season, but put together a 21-4 record in July to open a nice 7 games gap in the division and a good hold on the 2nd best record in the conference. We have the above mentioned Pineville Phantoms (94-12) in the conference, therefore the eventual road to the WS has to come by a huge upset. Perugia (60-48) is trailing the division leader by 2 games but it is still in the middle of a heated wild card race. Due to the new stadium settings (minimun for HRs, doubles and triples and Max for AVG) we are nr.1 in the league in batting avg. and last in HRs and XBHs. At this point I'm not sure if the changes have done more harm than good, even though we have a much better record at home than on the road, probably indicating the latter.

Yeah, but the way this works is that you have to tell us which pitcher so we can be envious.
