My Mustangs were shown as having 1 tournament win before they had won any rewards. There is a bug here somewhere.

Is anyone in this Tourney? It has been stuck preparing for about 6-8 hours for me.

So without training, putting my Ozzie Smith or 99 Honus Wagner at 2b or my 99 Mays in LF or RF mean the player will not fair well defensively since they are not fully trained in these positions during tournaments?
Not trying to argue just need a reasonable explanation of affects? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It uses the rating for that position on the card.

Anyone else spy the 100 Lou Whitaker reward card in the Sunday Bronze and Below tourney? New card, correct?

Craig Biggio is one example of a player I didn't plan on playing in center field. He has an 11 rating there on his legend card. To go with that he has a 14 error, 18 range & 9 arm. (This on the 1-20 scale)…. When he played CF he threw a guy out from the warning track despite the below average arm in limited action...he seemed to do well in CF. George Brett played CF for me one game... He played a pretty good CF for that game though I don't have the details. He is a 2/2/1 in the OF with NO positional ratings. So there may be a random effect, and/or the game may not sort of be strict with the ratings on every single play...maybe both, in my experience anyway, it's not a disaster necessarily to have a guy playing out of position. Sometimes it is, especially on the infield, though...but I think that's mostly for guys who don't have generally good infield ratings. I remember Davey Johnson I heard...put Jesse Orosco in RF one time to preserve his pitching eligibility for an inning in the '80s managing the Mets...it seems the game reflects the outfield being a little easier in general to at least shag the ordinary fly. I can't say for sure other than that good ratings help, and the lowest or non-existent ratings are worse when you play a player on the infield or on the pitcher's mound. Additionally, I have at least on one occasion noticed speed be a factor aside from defensive ratings in the field...at least it seemed that way...I had a guy playing out of position and he was a fast player at 2B, he quickly got under a shallow pop (one that looked like it was going to drop into shallow OF)...And another example of a guy with not great ratings (Eddie Yost) at 3B...primary position but not very good ratings...I subbed him in for a game and I never saw a double play turned so quickly despite a poor DP turn rating. The most obvious example where a poor rating hurt was Jose Reyes trying to play 3rd base with a 2 rating 1-20 there...He was terrible, made like 1 error a game. One where it didn't seem to matter much though I didn't look at his zone rating was I used RF ratings only Clemente in CF semi-regularly one season. Did watch some highlights where he made a few nice plays.

Tournaments General Discussion
They don’t have ratings for that position on the card. Can they still play in that position well? Wagner trained to 100 for 2b but 2b is not on his default card at all! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes, they often can if it is an outfield position and they have good general outfield ratings or an infield position and good general infield ratings. I noticed many of the "stand-in" first basemen (like a David Ortiz) have minimal infield ability, while a skilled SS or a more polished 1B like Keith Hernandez have higher ratings for the infield. And a lot of times in the OF it seems to be a matter of range & arm...maybe they get a sort of tough plays boost with positional ratings, but those general ratings do make a difference when the player has no rating for a position.

The card will have ratings at that position according to the rate of training per game from whatever the base start is. Use your brain; it's not that difficult to parse.

My gold team got medium-deep into the tournament paying out a 100 Ted Simmons. But, my 1750 cap team is fighting Vlad News Bears in the finals right now of the TWIPT Weekly Cap Challenge (best of 3, Frogs lead 1-0). Winner will get a SE Lorenzo Cain. Loser will get SE Dustin Pedroia. Seems pretty equal to me.
EDIT: Pulled it out. Nice

Ah, ya. The tournament where I lost in the first round to a team that lost in the second round to a team that lost in the third round to a team that lost in the semifinals to a team that lost in the finals.

I'd also like to point out that my 40 Josh Fogg really held down his #4 rotation spot. He was 2-0 with a 1.69 ERA in 21.1 IP. Couldn't've done it without him...right? I don't trust "Joe Unknown" to post that kind of performance.

I wish there were more 1750 tournaments though... and not of the live card variety, either. I think I have only gotten into two, at most three, of these. Won one, was bopped unceremoniously from the other(s). Not quite sure what that says about my approach of mingling 95-100s with 41s and a handful of 70s.

Official release looks awesome!
Bo7 is far more palatable with ten minute sims and I like the 64 team Daily with bigger prizes structure. And I don't get the sanity check error message before it automatically imports my lineup anymore! |

I like the new lineup, also. My only gripe is that packs are still valued at the retail price, instead of the number of lottery tickets they provide. 2 regular packs for 2nd place is WAYYYYY better than 1 gold pack for 1st. At the very least, 1st place should be 1 Gold pack and 1 regular pack. 10 lottery tickets each and 1075 vs 100 in guaranteed value.
