i sim one day at a time. keeping track of my wins/losses. i usually don't look at other things during that time. After a week, i'll check over my major leagues, glance at my minors. Obviously injuries, trade offers and things as that pop up and i address those immediately. After a few weeks of this (no more than a month, or any time i make major changes/trades), i'll make a back-up of my game. Then i'll give the team a good look, see if i have some players stinking it up and decide if i should trade them, demote them, or just cut my losses and set them on their way.
i used to gm/manage, but now i just GM, controlling trades, hirings, promotions to majors. let my managers do line-ups and my asst. GM minor league promotion/demotions.

I sim one game at a time. I always check the transactions log and the waiver wire daily. I never use 7 day lineups. I always use team strategy.

If I am gm/manager, then I select "balanced" from the dropdown menu or perhaps a strategy that matches my team. If I am gm only, then I let the manager set the strategy.

I sim mostly one game at a time sometimes more if on a winning streak. I use the 7-day lineup to properly use position players and SP. I make use of the bench player feature to stop over use of certain relief pitchers and force more usage of others. I check other teams and players for possible acquisition and make early decisions on pending FA both on and off my team. Always looking for players who outperform their apparent rating. I use 2-8 scale and 20-80 overalls to fog things without going stats only.
I'm almost 100 years in one Fict MLB and 75 years into another. If I get stale with one I switch to the other which takes me sometime to get up to speed on.
