Historical League Question
With the people out there that run Historical leagues, what in your eyes is the best year or around what year to start a league? I'm trying to start a bunch of leagues before i update OOTP to the newest patch and i want to get one good historical one started.
Thank you OOTP family |

Does the game still have the quasi historic setup in 1871 where the AL and NL already exist?
If so I would suggest post 1901. You will get the players but there are teams left out and others that didn't exist showing up early. You really don't get a real historical feel. If you want to play from 1871 onward. I would suggest playing a fictional league where you import historical rookies. That does mean manually importing players in 1871 unless you have a modified DB. I am not sure you can do that anymore with a special piece of software that edits the new DB files. It also requires manually deleting teams and adding teams since the auto historical game will not give you the real evolution of the NA, NL, AA, UA, and PL. I will see if I can post my BB chrono file to ootp mods if anyone is interested. It is grafted on to the current chronology file to include 1871-1900. This can be done but it requires some work. It is much easier to start in the modern era and import history if you want a realistic evolution of the league. |
