Just FYI. We finished playing the 2000 season. The historical transactions listing stopped at 11/08/2000. We were notified by email of 2 players opting to become free agents on 11/10/2000, a player being released on 11/15/200 and another released on 11/20/2000. We simmed foreward to 01/01/2001 and that's where the historical transaction listing picks up again. Those 4 players were not added or listed, like I figured. So almost 2 months of transactions were missing or as in my case the transactions took place but just were not listed. Maybe it's a problem with the game itself and I need to uninstall and reinstall? I might create a new league in for 2000 just to see how that plays out. Anyway just thought you might want to know, or not.

On 1/1 the following year the database starts from January 1st. The transaction from the previous year do not show on the real transaction listing anymore.
It also appears that there is a limit to how many it shows on screen. I just checked this with 2000 and players are moving to the correct teams even if it does not show on the real transaction listing so it is working properly. There is no reason to reinstall, your game is working fine.

Thanks. I appreciate the confirmation. Thanks for the time you put into my questions and for putting up with my rookie status in this.

In all honesty you're questions have been a good source for people to find out more about how it works. And for me to double check that it's working right.

Yes. If you never want Ruth to play for the Yankees just move him back to the RedSox when that move occurs and edit his history...

How far does the transactions go back. If i want 19th century transactions i will have to do those manually. Is that correct?

I don't think it works for the 19th century. At least I have to do it manually in my simulation, only the missing years and the retirement works (and even for the missing years I must check the injured days carefully or the computer will sign player who are not ready to come back). But I use the real structure in place those years, so maybe it's the reason why it doesn't work...

I don't think it would be possible to have real life transactions (or lineups) for the nineteenth century. The game doesn't provide the real 19th century teams, and if the teams in the database aren't accurate, then the lineups and transactions can't be, either.

In the next Spritze db I'm planning on doing just that. I hope to include a transaction database that includes the 1800's. The only thing left that will be a challenge will be the 1871 Start as that requires two leagues with an even number of teams to begin. The teams I plan on adding for that will need to be removed and the real ones imported. From there all should proceed normally as i understand it? |

I believe that is correct. I know in 10 and 11 they will if you make the changes in the database. The transaction file will go back before 1900 in the game? How do you plan on making the transaction dates were there is no data available. You might want to use LGO's schedules. |
