Historical Draft problem
Just curious.
Started a 1876 game. No complete minors, just the game the old way. I left the draft date to Dec 15, and the reveal 30 days before. The draft was there but no players showed up. If I recall spritze said something that the draft had to be scheduled on a certain day to make it happen? Anyone else with problems with the draft in 18? |

Can you start a historical league, no actual minors...like old OOTP games, and see if you can get players to show up in the draft in December. I tried 1876, but you can see if any year will work for you |

Any other settings or just out of the box settings?

i was using spritze, so the problem is with the 17 db
The one that came with the game worked fine right out of the box as is. I think i have the spritze 16 db. I will try that one as well and see if that one works. |

I haven't been able to get to work with the one I used for 16 and 17. Very frustrating as I would like to be able to decide what teams to import without having to do it all manually. |

The spritze 16 hsdb works. Kept the dec 15 draft, reveal 30 days. all the players that should be there were there. So the problem is some odd corruption to all the ootp 18 db Fire up your 16 spritze and have a go. |

So, if I have it right, you're saying neither the default database nor the Spritze 17 HSDB work, but that the Spritze 16 HSDB does work. Oh man, that is bizarre. Maybe needs to be reported as a bug?

I was able to import some players from Spritze 17, but not others. Oscar Charleston (charlos00) worked fine, but not Spottswood Poles (Poles049Spo). Should clarify actually. Spottswood Poles imported but his stats didn't come with him, so he was awful. However Spotswood Poles (polessp00 - same guy different ID) comes in just fine with his real life stats and his proper FaceGen. Bizarre. I think it has something to do with the player IDs. The game seems to prefer the standard Lahman ID (first five letters of last name, followed by the first two letters of first name, followed by two digit numeric code...e.g. Hank Aaron = aaronha01), and will not import real life stats if anything outside of that standard code is used. I noticed this trend with the Spritze HSDB 16 as well when I used it in 16.

Having trouble finding one that is still active. How else can we share this Spritzy goodness? Anyone got any ideas? If we can't figure that out, I suggest using default database for historical MLBers and SpritzeHSforOOTP17 for random imports of non-MLBers.

Man oh Man. I've read through this whole post seeing if there was a way to import everyone through random historical by starting a 1901 league without minors ( or even historical minors leagues). Got my hopes up then dashed, up again, and finally dashed. So it seems that you can't have any of the historical minors or negro league players random debut without the spritze db unless you import manually. Correct? So I downloaded SPritze DB 17, read a few more posts, and found out it doesn't work with 18 and everyone is looking for the 16 version? So, if I have this right (my head hurts, lol) then it probably is best to wait for Spritze to put out his ver 18 in a few months once the dust settles?

I am doing what you suggest and although the players are importing to the rookie draft the potential ratings seem too low; both Rube X Foster and Double Duty Radcliffe only one star potential ratings. Will try a few more players and keep everyone updated on my results.

EDIT: Foster will appear as a first baseman, but fear not, that is the guy. Check the Real Life Stats tab out and the pitching stats in it. That should be your guy. No proper FaceGen, but that's because of the "Andrew". Last edited by actionjackson; 03-30-2017 at 08:58 PM. |
