Suggestion: iOOTP Editor as separate app
Since the need was there to keep the game size down, perhaps between releases of iOOTP, you could work on a separate, for sale app, that includes the editing features missing from the actual game. This would then be an option for those that want to edit, but would also keep the memory requirements down for the actual game app. They could share the data files with one another, but would not rely on one or the other to be running.
Only charge $1-2 for this one, but still it would be an great tool, but the guys who made the game and get around the memory issues.

I'm not sure an iphone app would work. Im pretty sure you can't edit data across apps. There are a couple of ways this could work, but none are realistic. One way would be to have a dedicated server where you can upload your saves from iOOTP and then download them into the new app. Then you'd have to reup them to the server and redown them into iOOTP, which honestly is crazy.
Another way would be to use a program on your computer and pull saves from your iphone onto your own machine and then reup them to your device. (this is how football manager does it, but it's a third party app). Other than that, in app editing is the only real user friendly way to accomplish this...unless someone else smarter than me has an idea. |

Not sure on this, but if OOTP could make it work, I would buy the editing app.

An idea on the computer software way of editing...
What if the computer software was OOTP. Just think, you create whatever league you want in OOTP,selecting options that allow for it to be "IOOTP compatible",plug your IPhone/IPod/IPad into your computer and both the IOOTP app and OOTP on your desktop communicate with each other in the same way that Itunes communicates with your device to add music and all to your device. |
