Bug: Double-switch player substitutions
I've noticed that when making a double-switch player substitution (ie, replacing the pitcher and a position player, with the incoming position player taking the pitcher's spot in lineup and vice versa), the position player will be listed in the boxscore and in his stats as having played in the game as a pitcher.
It appears that when replacing a player in the lineup screen during a game that the positions data is saved immediately. For example: 3B --> P (first roster move) P --> 3B (second roster move) So, in this case, the 3B comes in at the current pitcher's roster position. When the change is made, the player assumes the position status of that roster spot. Even after the position status for that roster spot is updated to 3B, the game "remembers" that that position player came in for the pitcher, and "credits" that player with an appearance as a pitcher. Slightly annoying glitch in that it shows up in the boxscore and in the fielding stats for the player. So, while looking over the fielding stats for your position players, you may find several instances of them credited as appearing as pitchers, when clearly that was not the case (at least, except in rare instances where you have a position player who CAN pitch as an emergency reliever, etc). |
