Going to the ballpark

Now where is my seat.

While edditing texture files of a stadium to fit my league I liked what I saw in the editor. Some of these models are pretty good.
If only we had a free camera when playing out games to explore the surroundings.

It has the look and feel of a Florida (or Arizona) Spring Training facility. They tend to be open and airy and accessible and not huge. Like where MLB teams played, over a hundred years ago.

It is indeed in Florida. John Euliano Park in Orlando, home of the UCF Knights. I love these smaller parks, my fictional league is full of them. I think these ballparks are among the most beautiful sports stadiums in the world, I actually prefer them over MLB parks.

the intimacy of a small park. You're so close to the field, to the action, that you feel a part of it. Try feeling close to the action in Section 305, Row 37, Seat 43...ain't gonna happen. Make no mistakes, I had a blast at Comerica this year. Traverse City, Grand Rapids (and I'm sure Dow Diamond, one of next year's goals) have that kind of feel...like days gone by in small town America.
